YTD 1-0 +6units

Only my second play this year but love it even though it's a road game.

Bama -4 6units

The one thing I'm scared about in this game is if Kyler Murry comes in an plays well for the aggs. I know Allen will start but I've read Murry will likely play. His ability to run out of the spread scares me. Key to the game IMO is Bamas ability to run. This will help keep the two ends for the aggs honest. I think it will also allow Bamas OLine to wear them down. Might be close going into the 4th but Bama pulls away and wins by 10. aggs won't be able to run and I'm not sold on Allens ability to carry an offense yet. He looks like he gets happy feet to me. He also isn't a threat to run which will allow Bama to throw blitzes at him. If Bama doesn't lose the TO battle then they win this game comfortably.

Wood, I agree with you on what you said. IMO Bama will out physical a&m and they have much more depth than the ags have. a&m won't be able to run on Bama and if they have to lean on Allen or Murray to pass their way to victory, I smell a lot of turnovers. My only concern is Coker is average. People like to talk about Kyle Field being a difficult place to play, but it's really not. a&m has lots of losses there. I think the Tide wins by at least 10.

Yeah, there have been a lot of places Tech has played that I knew were difficult but Kyle field wasn't one of them. Norman for some damn reason tops that list.

I think Bama stops the aggs running game with minimal effort and focuses on the passing game. If Allen was a runner I would worry because that seems to give Bama problems but he's not. The other thing is the aggs don't have that big go to receiver like they did in years past and that always gave Bama problems.

I also think Bamas running game gets what they want. I think it's 4.6ypr vs. 4.6 given up or something close. Aggs are going to have to commit to stopping the run and there will be somebody on an island and that will make for big plays.

I may add Tech even though they're right around 30-31. Kansas is beat up. I think they may play 8 true frosh on offense including their QB. Lubbock isn't an easy place(field) for a young QB. Add to that they're only traveling with 3 DL. With the speed that Tech's offense keeps I think those 3 DLs will be hurting by the 2nd qtr.

Wood, check that. Tech travels to Kansas on Saturday. I don't disagree with you though. Tech will most likely cover against the Jayhawks.

LOL, shows you how busy I am this week and how much this game means to me. I just assumed based on the spread it was in Lubbock. Wow, what a great fan I am. That actually changes it for me. Tech has OU next week so I expect this to be basically a bye week for a lot of our starters with travel two weeks in a row. I just thought in Lubbock their frosh QB would struggle and our backups would be good enough.

It amazes me that Sumlin gets the attention he does. A big job, ie USC, comes open and people mention his name. What has he done? Yes they had some big wins with Johnny but that was about it. He has all of the talent in the world on that team but doesn't get it done. This is his 4th year, he's had a full 3 cycles to get his players in and he's done it with great success but it's not going to win at a high rate.

If Bamas center doesn't get hurt the game would have been a lot worse. The backup center was not even close to what Kelly was. Mentally I think Bama let up once they got the big lead and started making mistakes and it almost cost them.

I'm a BIG fan of the spread offense and the passing games but at some point these coaches(mine at Tech included) that their defenses can never stop physical running games. Yeah people will point to spread offenses like Oregon and Auburn being in the NC games but those are spread offenses that will kick your ass running the ball. That means in practice their defense works against a lot of running plays. The spread offenses that pass a ton ALL have problems stopping it because their Ds don't see it enough in practice.
