Round 2 after yesterdays 57-47 Tx win..
Texas St -3.5 over UALR ****
What an ugly game esp. when you lose it and make a halftime -11 play and Tx up 12 with 7 seconds left and they let Ark score on an uncontested layup at the buzzer ...to win by 10 ohhhh that hurt ...
Recap the game and what does Ark do today to make adjustments .. Arks top scorer and pt gd played a total of 15 minutes Nowell.. he was 2-2 from the 3 and on 2 back to back plays drove the middle and tried to dish it off. Both times he turned it over. Walker the coach took him out and something must of been said because he never played again. Now with the c-19 bleachers taken away from behind the bench I couldn't hear what was said. And the benches are set up in an L style So 3/4 of the bench players are behind the coach and there are 3 benches that go under the basket kinda like Vanderbilt sitting under the basket.. Newell is sitting under the basket maybe 50-60 feet from his team.. thought maybe at halftime he would play in 2nd half but nope He never got in.. he did huddle up during time outs but Walker never acknowledged him once.. So now Ark has lost their play maker, leading scorer and the only player that can create its own shot. So what happens today?? Is Newell back or has he taken a cab back to Little Rock .. even if he is back Tex did a great job taking the Arks big men out of the game.
Texas was so much quicker,more hustle and passion.. Harrell was held in check but he didn't have 1 turn over. Tex coachs game plan was right on.. The bigs had to go out to get the ball.. Tex in transition was attacking I don't think Ark had 1 pt on fast break.. Tex slowed the ball down,worked for a good shot and was patient. Ark w/o Newell played 2 or 3 guys at the point.. Tex defense held them to 47 points but the problem is Tex offense isn't very good. Ark was 5-18 from the 3 and 8-14 from the TF line
The line is -3.5 and think Texas could cover if they use the same game plan. Walker the coach put on a full court press in the 2nd half.. only the back guy was up and tex threw a football pass from under the basket for a uncontested touchdown,- 4 pts .. I have seen guys open but not that open ..
UTSA +1.5 over FIU ****
Roadrunners beat them last night 87-80 and are the underdog today no way Wallace had 33 and Jivan 22. these guys were 7-12 from the 3..UTSA gets another win outright ..
OU -14.5 over Iowa St **
West Vir -2,5 over Kansas **
Hofstra -3.5 over Drex ****
