Post Record:
NCAA: 2-0 (+3x)
NFL: 3-1 (+1.9x)
10/2/04:
Oklahoma/Texas Tech Over 33.5 (1st half) 2x:
Oklahoma at home has been an offensive machine. Texas Tech is nothing to scoff at. The last 5 games head-to-head totals: 81, 75, 43, 40 and 66. Both get off to quick starts. I look for some quick scoring early.
Purdue -1.5 (1st half) 1x:
Orton is one heck of a QB. Purdue has the skills, and while they have a poor history in South Bend, I see them coming out blazing. The Gold Domes have shown some spirit the last couple weeks, but Mich/MichSt/Wash do not have the offensive fire power of Purdue. Purdue spreads the field and should give the ND defense some trouble. ND may figure it out by the end of the game and ultimately keep it close in the 2nd half, but Orton goes deep early in the game ... give me the half-time cover and I'll be happy just watching the rest.
Other leans (but can't find lines):
Texas 1st half ... if I could get a half time line under 21 (can't find one), I love the 'horns to lay the wood early and sit back in the long haul. I don't want to sweat out the late Baylor TD to blow the spread. Horns out to the early lead = half time winner.
Stanford 1st half ... sames as the horns above ... Wash has no defense. Too much Joe Public on Stanford for the game to risk the late cheapy from Washington to bust the cover. Like the first half if I could find it.
I don't like to spread myself too thin on NCAA, as I seem to have better luck in NFL, but depending on how the first two go, I also looking at the following:
Toledo -16: this is 1/2 coattailling those here who are more learned than I on the Toledo bandwagon and 1/2 anti-Ball State. BS appears to be just that bad.
Texas A&M -2.5 (1st half): K State has not impressed me this year. When combined with being on the road, I like A&M to take control early.
Minn -15: This is another I'd like to get a 1st half line on, Minnesota is not afraid of putting points on the board and I feel will exploit Joe Pa early if possible.
Good luck to all.
