Indians continue to stay hot. Jason Johnson has always been a quality pitcher stuck on a bad team.

Take the tribe -1.5.

Also a guaranteed lock because I will be at the game right behind home plate, section 154, row D, 5 rows back! Cash in now!

After watching Johnson in Detroit as the alleged "ace of the staff" I would hardly call him a quality pitcher. That being said, I hope you win and have fun at the game.

good luck to all

You must not follow closely. Johnson is a proven innings-eater who racks up quality starts by the bundle. But he's never been on a winning team, and his career record (52-86) shows it.

I actually follow very closely. While Johnson will get you some innings pitched, his lifetime numbers of 4.885 era and whip of 1.468 are hardly quality numbers. I think anyone would agree with that.

Like I said, I hope you win and have fun. I just got sick of watching Johnson and was glad to see him go. No hard feelings, just hoping the Tigers can compete this year. Nice start so far, but it's early. good luck

you sound like the guys on wtam 1100 trying to sell johnson as a great acquisition. on an unrelated note, i had to turn down two tickets in section 155 row B for this one. would have been quite coincidental if we were seated almost right next to each other. enjoy the game. but i think youre expecting way too much of johnson.

That would have been quite crazy!!

I think you are expecting to much out of the rookie Scott Baker facing the HOT tribe offense at home. It is a two way battle here fellas.

I grew up with Johnson. His brother was my best friend who tragically died in a car accident when we were in high school.

My claim to fame was jacking a wiffle ball homerun off of Jason in a local tournament.

Baker has absolutely incredible stuff. I imagine you have never seen him pitch before... trust me, he will be amazing in a couple years.

I got the Twins. Have fun at the game, though.

Lock of the year already? Does this mean Lock of the year so far or Lock of the year for the entire 2006 season?

Good luck either way. Staying away.

johnson looked sharp. agree with thor that baker has the potential to be very good. but this one ended up being all indians. did the twins even get a guy to 3rd base today?

Just back from the game! Hope your all bet it hard and won with me. Baker did not look that great, nor did Lirano who relieved him late in the game.

Liriano didn't look good? How bad can 2.66 innings with 2 hits, no runs, 4 strikeouts and no walks look?

And that is with 27 of 38 pitches for strikes.

If you watched the game you woud have seen his defense bail him out multiple times. The pitching coach was out to the mound twice in one at bat. Regardless, good young prospect.
