Another solid tourney day yesterday going 3-1 nailing FLA ML, BC, and OVER in the Huskies matchup with the lone loss on crappy Wichita St. Looked long and hard at both of the matchups today and came up with the most solid play I see......
MEMPHIS -150 ML
*Just can't go against the Tigers right now....I picked them to win the whole thing in my brackets and I'm riding my instincts. I agree they haven't been tested yet in this tourney as they've had three comfortable victories outscoring their opponent every half, but today they WILL get their first test from UCLA and this game will be close throughout. The Bruins will be out to avenge their earlier loss and be fired up and wouldn't surprise me if they are leading at the half, BUT I feel Memphis will dig deep and show the world they are a legit contender for the title here and prevail in the end! This is a perfect game for them to see what they are made of in this tourney and my money is banking they gain some RESPECT here!!! Woudn't surprise me if this is a 1-3 pt game. Mental edge goes to Memphis as well for already beating the Bruins earlier and I feel that plays a big factor here. Both teams are relatively young, but I'll take the senior duo of Carney and Williams over UCLA's Bozeman and Hollins. On the defensive side UCLA has been slipp'n a bit giving up 47% and 48% FG's last two games and if they think Bama and Zaga were tough they better be prepared for what Memphis is going to throw at you offensively. Bottom line is this is gut check time for Memphis as this will be a close game and their toughest matchup yet, but feel they come out with a "W" and move on...*
