Happy March Madness everyone!!!! When March starts, its like the college football bowl season starting. Great time of the year if you are a sports junkie like most of us here are.

Not being shy here on the first of March as I have a few plays for the noon tips.

Wright +5 over Valpo.....I know WSU is playing its third road game in a row, but I am siding today with the Raiders, who are one of the best doggies around. They've covered 7 straight as a road dog and are 13-3 ATS as a short fav of less than 7 points. They are riding a 25-10-1 as an underdog on any floor. Valpo, meanwhile, has only covered 3 of their last 12 games overall. While I think they have more than held their own in the promotion into the Horizon League, their results are not paying off at the window as the Crusaders are just 2-8-1 in their last 11 league games. So, WSU might be road weary, but they are playiing better than Valpo right now. Think WSU, who plays excellent defense, will be able to contain the Crusaders three-point attack and win this game outright in the end.

Syracuse -2 over Pitt.......Orange get a big home win. Like the way they have played in their three at home and compared to what Pitt has done in their last three road games, I see Syracuse easing by Pitt in the end by just enough to get this cover.

Very torn on WV-Uconn, so I am laying off. WVA had a very profitaable february. Scared me off the Huskies.

Adding some for the 2pm tips:

Oklahoma -1 over Texas A/M. Home cooking will help the Sooners today. After a lousy two games on the road, Oklahoma will get back on the winning track at home today against the similarily reeling Aggies. There has not been much to like about Tamu on the road this season, and have cashed soe winning tickets this season on posted plays fading them in the other guy's gym. I will ride that in this huge bubble game.

Lasalle -1 over URI. The hot team in A-10 up against the cold team in the A-10. Here's hoping they another hot and cold one in them respectively. Lasalle is 7-2 SU in their last nine, 7-1 ATS in those games. They have won at St Joe, at Duquense and vs Dayton in that stretch, so they can beat the Rams. URI has collapsed losing and not covering for five in a row. Their slate has been tough, but its to tough to pass up the Explorers given how well they've been playing. They can more than score with URI and the Rams defense will fail them once again. Consider this: If this were an A-10 first round or quarterfinal game, I would not hesitate to take Lasalle to win. They're at home in a to win situation, so I am on it.

Added this second half play:

Texas -4.5 over TTech........figured this game would be a close one for the Horns. Felt along and obviously still do that they would have the moxie to pull out a W in the end, regardless of spread. They ML was -220 before tip, now I have it for even money. Always have had success with the Horns when I play them, so I am stoked about this one.

Here's what I have for tonight:

Cleveland State -2 over Valpo.....paying a little extra juice to get it down to a bucket, and splitting the difference between the spread and a pricey moneyline. I love the Vikes to get the road win here and cap off their most successful regular season in two decades in style. Yes, on the road is a danger, but this club has already won at South Florida, at Wright State, vs Florida State on a nuetral floor this season. They did hit a rough spot about a month ago losing four straight all on the road, but those were to the teams in the next echelon of the league, just behind CSU in the standings. In a competitive league, you're going to lose those games more often than not. YSU is a perennial cellar dweller, and CSU probably will have a decent contigent of fans at the game tonight, so it wont be extremely hostile. The Vikes just won at Valpo less than two weeks ago, so they have restored their confidence playing away from home.

Vikes have a ton to play for, also. Byes and home court advantage for the league tournament are at stake in this finale. CSU would get a bye and host every game through the semi's if they get a win. That's a big thing to play for tonight and its gets them through a tough road win in a rivalry game.

I like this one a lot and am risking the 3 units to win 2 on this one. Thus far this season, I have not been highlighting amounts/units in my picks, but I will be doing so during March Madness.

Also like this one:

UWM -1 vs UIC......UWM has been a nice surprise this season. Feel like they have at least one win more win in them and they'' get at least that in their home finale this evening. Just a 1 Unit play.

Good luck!!!

Well, guess I cant lay off the marquee game on espn tonight:

KSU +12 over KU......KU has major revenge on its mind, and the Phog Allen will be juiced tonight. But KU has a habit of winning these type of showdowns, yet not cover. The last three Texas games (except they actually lost the last one SU), Tamu last year, this year at KSU, at Missou, vs Baylor. I'll take the chance that KSU can hang within this number with Beasley, with a little help from Walker, can match the hot hands from KU basket for basket before KU pulls away on free throws in the end.
