MONTREAL (5 - 19) at LOS ANGELES (14 - 8)
Livan Hernandez (R) vs. Jose Lima (R)

We'll go with the LA Dodgers tonight when they look to continue the Montreal Expos 2004 nightmare.

The Expos were swept in a four-game series at San Diego earlier this week before being routed 13-4 by the Dodgers last night.

"We hit rock-bottom tonight. This is as low as we can go," Montreal manager Frank Robinson said. "It was a bad ballgame all the way around. We got embarrassed."

They have dropped eight of their last nine games overall and 13 of 16. Montreal's offensive ineptitude is well documented...they have scored just 45 runs in 24 games this season.

Montreal are 2-11, -8.7 units this season against right-handed starters so we're expecting Jose Lima to be able to keep their anemic offense in check tonight. He is 2-2 when starting against the Expos since 1997 with a 4.25 ERA and 1.315 WHIP.

Livan Hernandez heads to the hill for Montreal and he is just 5-10 against the Dodgers and his team is 6-12 in those starts. Despite a 2.97 ERA this season the Expos are just 1-4, -3.1 units when he starts due to very limited run support.

"When the team isn't scoring, a pitcher often tries to be too fine," manager Frank Robinson said. "When you go out there with the knowledge that if you allow two runs there's a good chance you are going to lose, you aren't yourself."

While the Expos appear to have the edge in starting pitching tonight we believe that this has been over-compensated for in tonight's line especially when you consider Montreal's inability to score.

Getting an 8-5 home team as a small favorite against a 3-12 road team offers excellent value considering there isn't a big pitching mismatch. Add on the fact that the Dodgers are 10-4, +3.9 units versus the Expos since the start of the 2002 season and we'll make the Dodgers a strong play tonight.
