the political function i had to go to today was cancelled so i have some time now. about the plays briefly:

nc state - this line overly optimistic because of navy's fortunate rout. navy has no answer for rivers, and state d line should be able to penetrate enough to stop the option. while amato not a run-it-up kinda guy, wouldn't surprise me to see him let buddy green hold a few after his tight-lipped departure last year.

la tech - not enough clemson d to spot this prolific offense dd's.

utep - i realize ky played a nice game opening against their instate rival, but wildcats simply aren't good enough to spot any div 1-a team three td's.

alabama - think this game plays out fairly low scoring so this number (i actually got 12-) seems like a lot to cover.

wake - ecu with a big dropoff this year at qb and running back and an undersized defense which should be dominated by the beefy deacons.

syracuse - heels same old tired offense with another qb with no patience or decision-making ability. difference this year is their defense can no longer make up for their offensive miscues.

mtsu - bigger game for the blue raiders than the vols; think mtsu puts up enough points to stay with 3 td's.

adding a couple for this afternoon:

lv/duke under 52: defense is the most noticeably improved component of the blue devils this year. don't think duke's offense can put up their share of this number.

md -21: this one's for madjack. i lost with the terps last weekend, but being shut out in south bend in the season opener is not the end of the world. freidgen will let the offense get their confidence back against akron.

tulsa -4-: i don't think tulsa is all that bad; i think ark st is.
