TWO PICKS: Richmond +5 and Niagara +8.5
Marist beat Old Dominion 84-71 and OD beat Richmond by 69-52. So how come Marist is favored by about 20 in this one??
The Red Foxes win over OD was my only loss of the year and I blame it on Arnaud Dahl, the 6-7 star forward for OD from the Ivory Coast who chose that game to get sick for; playing just 11 minutes off the bench.
Richmond has a bunch of tall athletic freshmen who are improving with every game. If they can put two good halves together they can play with Marist in this one. I like Marist a lot, but I think they are a little over-valued at this point.
The fact that 60+% of the public is on Marist and the line is going down doesn't hurt Richmond's chances either.
The other game I like is Niagara +8.5 against cross-town rival Buffalo, who might get caught celebrating a road win over Temple and looking ahead to next week's home game against Pitt.
