First play of the season...............

1) Denver(+14.5)

Denver returns 6 of their top 7 players, and with that slow paced Princeton style offence, will keep things close.

I expect Northern Iowa's troubles on defence to continue from last year, so getting this many points is very attractive.

More later..............

Good luck out there !

"oldtimer" ????

Who you calling oldtimer, you longtimer !!!

Good to see you loop, thanks for checking in !

2) Western Kentucky (+6.5)

I think new WK coach Ken McDonald is the real deal. He's paid his dues at some big programs..........Georgia, Texas, Clemson........under some big names, and it's his time now. I think he'll have this team humming right from the tip. They did lose some scoring, but still are a solid looking team from top to bottom.

Houston has not impressed anyone yet this year, losing to Georgia Southern and beating Presbyterian who committed 19 turnovers and scored just 4 FG's in the 1st half. Not much of a challenge there.

3) Rice (+5)

Like the size and roster makeup of this Rice team, and love getting 5 pts at home with them.

Last one for the night......

4) Montana State(+10)

Montana St. is well coached by Brad Huse, who got this team to compete every night on defence and the boards last year. And senior center Mbunga is a handful at both ends of the court.

I just don't see anything special about Nevada to warrant being a DD favourite on the road to open the season.

Hi Spang..............Rice stayed at +5 till just past noon, and then took a drop. You're right........game went right to the wire.

I'm still trying to figure out how WK can look so good in the first half to lead by 10 at the break, only to look so awful in the 2nd half and get outscored by 19 ???

congrats on that win, I didn't post it but I was on Portland St-3 so we both cashed. Nice

Those Nevada suspensions have me thinking you may be on the right side of the late game as well

Good luck
