Windchill less than zero, blowing snow all over the place and a little under the weather.

Might as well stay in and watch what looks like a great day of college hoops.

The marquee game on now is ND at S'Cuse.

Can either team get off the mat from losing this week? Especially interested in Syracuse because their inconsistent play in the Big East has kept them from making the tourney for a couple of years. Plus, they've struggled at times to defend home court.

I'm intrigued to see this play out......both teams seem to be enjoying a more wide open tempo so far after being bottled up in half court games earlier in the week.

ND up 13-10 with 15 to go in the first half

I think somebody forgot to tell ND their game started. :142smilie Man, they are getting absolutely steamrolled.

N. Iowa coming out fast! Man they look good. Syracuse is taking advantage of NDs cold shooting

NIU does look good. This would be a big win for them.

I am not sold on the Valley getting more than one bid. But, a win here, on the road vs the defending league champ, would give NIU a 6-1 record and a chance to put up a regular season record (something like 14-4, perhaps), win the league and put themselves in excellent at large position should they not win the league tourney.

Otherwise, the top half or so of this league will beat each other up and nobody will have a good looking resume. The league is just too good and balanced for its own good.....kinda like the MAC but on steroids.

Ok.....its like college football at its height.....got all the TVs on and here's what I am tuned into:

ND/Scuse (espn)
Maryland/FSU (full court)
NIU/Drake (espn2)
Miami/Kent.....being shown on our local FSN affiliate.

And this is the only game I have cash on. Wasn't going to play much today, but this game grabbed me. Anytime you can get Kent's great home edge on a cheap number, you have to pull the trigger.

Kent -2, -120, is the number....MOH up 20-16 early, however, midway through the first half.

No doubt. Syracuse isn't impressive on defense and ND will make a few more runs before the game is over. Should be a good one.

It should be like those classic, high scoring NBA games from a couple of eras ago with no defense.

It you use your imagination hard enough, you can morph Harangody into Tom Chambers and ND into one those up tempo Sonic teams from the late 80s he was on.

:mj07: I never thought I would see a Tom Chambers reference on these boards. I saw many, many Sonics games in the 80's, back when they still played in the Kingdome. I was always more of a Dale Ellis fan because he played my position, but Chambers could shoot the rock for a 6'10" guy.

Thanks for the unintentional heads-up that this was on TV. I never even checked the FSNs this morning.

Not a prob. FSN Ohio is pretty good when it comes to MAC games, but there is not rhyme or reason it seems to what games they play, except the obvious that one Ohio team is playing. Plus, they show several Xavier games.

I spent the whole first half kicking myself for not taking the Over 160.

Yet, at half the game is on only 154-point pace, so maybe that was not a bad idea passing there.

I got so crushed on just about every total I played in bowl season, that I am too paranoid about them right now in any sport! :mj07:

Orange are running ND totally off the floor right now.......no dog in this fight, but I will say its cool to see the Orange rocking and rolling with the Carrier Dome fans.

Very retro.

Like all those Tom Chambers higlights I just watched....thanks for the link Shiva

I really thought ND would make some kind of run in this game. Just a dominating performance by Syracuse. Oh well, it's only one game.

And as i post that, the Irish get back to back scores and its under single digits.

The offense of ND is never out of it, but I just dont think they can stop the Orange enough to make this a game again, but we will see.
