Flaky but easy winner on Northern Arizona last night. 99 games to choose from today.
Play of the Day record now: 11-6-2
UC-Irvine -1
1. Jerry Green
2. Last 5 games: 50% FG, 44% from the arc
3. 7-0 center Adam Parada & 6-10 forward Stanislaw Zuzak
4. 6-5 guard Jordan Harris:11.5 ppg and 6.5 rpg
5. 5-2 ATS on the road
6. Zot Zot
Regular play:
Brown -5.5
I've been saying that Brown is one of the class of the Ivy, maybe #2 to Penn.
Brown is hitting 44% from the field and 40% from the arc in their last 5. The Bears just beat Yale in New Haven 87-82. All five starters from last year return: Earl Hunt and Alaivaa Nuualiitia are even better than last year; freshman guard Jason Forte (brother of Celtics rookie Joseph Forte) is making an immediate impact at 11 ppg and 3.9 rpg. He's already twice been named rookie of the week in the Ivy and player of the week for his 21 points vs Yale. Brown hit 39 of 44 free throws in the Yale game.
Yale just doesn't have the horses to keep up with Brown, and Brown is very tough at home. 5.5 is a lot of points to cover in an Ivy conference game, but with Brown's 84% free throw shooting and average of 83 ppg in their L5, I think it's doable.
