Hey all.....like i said earlier, its frigid and snowing out.....perfect day to make a drink or two, flips the TVs on and make some picks on college hoops.

One early one:

Syracuse -4 over Nova.......Thus far, it seems like the home teams have dominating as short favs in Big East play. Jumping on the Cus, who I feel will bring it tonight and eventually run away and hide from Nova. Nova has failed in six straight games against the number and are 0-2 on the road this year in Big East play, losing by 8 to Depaul and 3 to Cincy. Just have a hunch we might see a great game out of the Orange.

It a small play for just to keep me interested here early.....i'll have more later in the day.

Adding:

Iowa St -2 over Oklahoma St.....I could talk about the great home edge and the Hilton Magic the Cyclones haves. Or the fact the home teams is on an 8-3-1 ATS run in the series. Sure. But, this is more of an anti-Okie State bet as anything else. Until the Cowpokes prove they can get it done on the road, I will be fading them when such a short number is involved. OSU has lost 15 straight games in the opposing teams gym, going 2-13 ATS in thos contests. They've lost and failed to cover in 10 straight Big 12 road tilts. Home or away, OSU has been a great fade of late in league play, logging a 6-14-1 ATS mark in conference games. Meanwhile, Iowa State just handled Missourie with ease at home early in the week and carry a 15-7 ATS mark as home favorites of less than 7 points. They get this one done this afternoon by double digits.

Purdue -3 over Illinois......its obvious that its going to be a tough year for the Illini. They're battling tooth and nail in a lot of games, but dont seem to have enough scoring oomph to pull out key wins. Plus, their free throw shooting is atrocious. I've said before Purdue is my darkhorse in the Big 10 and they're off to a nice 3-1 record. Think they continue to climb the standins with a big win at home today. Purdue is 11-3 ATS in their last 14 Big 10 games, and they steamrolled the Illini by 17 points on this court last year. The game will be closer than that today, but the Boilers will still get a solid win and comfortable cover when its all said and done.

Good luck!!!

Added:

Purdue -4 2Half over Illinois.

I still feel PU will win this game. Expect an Illini scoring drought at some point. PU has a good D and they will clamp down.....plus, I do think that Illini's FT woes will come into play in our favor here.

Adding:

Cincy +4.5 over Pitt.....been a roler coaster with the Bearcats, but I am sticking with them as a home dog where they've already topped Nova and S'cuse at home.

Utah -3 over BYU.......I'll fade BYU in big road games until they can prove otherwise.....this should be a lot like their roadie vs UNLV the other day.

Kstate +1.5 over Tamu.....riding the home court edge.....Aggies have not looked good on the road yet this year....KSU while unranked, might arugably have more talent on the floor today.

Good luck!!

Nice job so far. Good luck with those Boilers.

I'm already on Utah and Cincy. I'm considering K. St. as well. Do you think Cincy can win that outright? I have the points but will probably play the ML too.

Nice going Boilers and Clones!!

3-1 start.

Glenn, thanks man! just saw your response, so my answer wont mean much since the game has started....but I do think Cincy could very well win this game. I hate going agaisnt Pitt as they are solid, but Cincy has already beaten two tourny contenders on this court in Nova and Cuse, plus a road win at L'Ville....they seem to run out of gas on the road, but get a little extra energy at home.....shocker, I know.....Pitt cant possibly play as great today as they did against georgetown.....think they're due for a letdown.

Thanks TP. And good job on the early games! Speaking of girlfriends... as I was about to put my ML wager in on the Bearcats, she came home from the gym and started telling me about this weird guy there. I got totally sidetracked and forgot to place my wager! :142smilie

Clearly I should not be allowed to operate heavy machinery. :SIB

Again, nice job. Looks like my inability to get the Cincy ML bet in is going to come back to bite me! :mj07: Really wishing I had taken KSU now. They played great. Utah got us unfortunately. If they had any offense to speak of they would have won that game down the stretch.

GL... I'm on Mizzou tonight and I believe you are as well?

Thanks Glenn!

Isn't that always the way though....the bets that you dont make because you get distracted always come in, while when you hustle to get one in under the gun, those bets always go awry.

And, yes......I will be on Missou tonight......KU-MU games are always among the more fun games each year......love both campuses and schools and always pull for both teams, despite their rivalry with one another.....tonight, I just think MU has the game to get it done.....think they are tourney bound, imo, but need to win, or at least a good showing tonight to get momentum rolling to that end. Love the home dog in this series.

Also, like NC St, per the Wizz's thread.....gotta follow him.

Not sure what else....looking at the 7/8 o'clock tips right now.

Agreed. I'm on NC State as well. Got them at -1 so all they have to do is pretty much win. I know we talked about this before, but I love taking either home dogs or small home faves in conference games. Seems to do very well.

Adding tonight so far:

Valpo +2 over Cleveland State.....CSU has been one of the nicer stories of the year so far....they're 6-0 in the Horizon and actually have a two-game lead over everyone's mid major darling Butler in the chase for league honors.....but consider the amazing week CSA has had......they go down to Dayton and win at Wright State, where nobody wins and then come back home Thursday and lead wire to wire in an upset of Butler, the programs first ever regular season win over a ranked foe.....I'm thinking the Vikes will just run out of gas tonight against a very solid Valpo team thats just laying in the weeds trying to prove themselves. Suddenly, the Vikes are the hunted and the Crusaders, looking to make a name for themselves in their new league, are set for a big win.....Valpa can win this league and already have three road wins, incluiding at Wright State also, in Horizon play. They are battle tested as well having played at UNC, at Wisco, at Vandy and at Austin Peay. Valpa has played a tougher slate than CSU, yet carry better stats into the game. A big advantage for Valpo also in the three point shooting department. Think they shoot right by the Vikings tonight and further shake up the Horizon standings.

NC St -1 over Miami......Unranked favorite in this one....Miami was on the wrong end of this trend earlier in the week on the road against BC, and expect the same to happen tonight. The Canes are only 7-19 SU the last four-plus seasons on the road in ACC play, including losses in ten of their eleven. NC St has been no great shakes, but expect their best effort at home tonight after back to back blowout losses on the road to UNC and Clemson. They might not be having the greatest of seasons in Raliegh, but the Pack have already beaten Davidson and Cincy on this floor this year. They'll add the Canes to their resume tonight.

Missou +7.5 over KU.......I have no trends or anything on this one......as long as the Tigers are playing well, I will always take them as a home dog in this series. Missouri got caught in a sandwhich trap in Ames against the Cyclones earlier in this week. But, one week ago today, they basically controlled from start to finish the Texas Longhorns on this court. The house will be rocking in Columbia tonight. I'll take the seven and a hook in a game that I think wont be decided until the closing possessions. We could very well see a fourth top 5 team go down tonight. It would not be a big shock.

Good luck. Might add more as I keep looking at the night's card!!!
