I would love to hear your reasoning as to the Alabama pick.

Being a Bama alum and fan, I stay away from betting with Alabama considering the obvious bias I have. Hence I was wondering your thoughts on that game. Alabama's offense has struggled scoring points. Watching the games we have done a decent job of moving the ball but have continued our problem from last year which is actually scoring TDs in the red zone. Not to mention, the OL is having problems run blocking (last year that was not a problem, as it was pass blocking that was the huge issue) and Ken Darby has been off his game for 2 weeks now. The defense has looked solid, thankfully.

Anyway, just wondering your thoughts. Until Alabama shows the ability to punch it in when in the red zone, I would shy away from any big spread in favor of Alabama. TIA and good luck on your picks.

Thanks Bama.....this is a play mainly against Monroe here for me as they are coming off a tough road loss at Kansas. Yes, you are right when you say Bama's "D" has been solid as I see them playing very solid in this game and I also see the offense getting more on track this week.....would not surprise one bit to see Monroe get shutout here! This is the 3rd game of a 3 game homestand to start the season for Bama and so far 0-2 ATS.....I like their chances on covering this! Spread is high for a reason here.....

Not sure I would count on Bama to score 24 plus points against anyone. Monroe is awful...but you almost have to presume a shutout to even consider a bet on Bama....

Right Side, We are on opposing sides of the SDSU game. You have to think that for SDSU to have a chance this game goes over. I mean SDSU has little defense and Wisky has a good offense.
Why not play the over on this one.
I would be on the over instead of Wisky but SDSU QB broke his thumb and is listed as ?, so I was wondering if you knew something about SDSU that I should know.

GL on the other plays

Regarding SDST....I like the emotion factor here with the Aztecs. Of course Wisky at home could blow them out easily, but I'm not seeing that at all. SDST dominated their last game against UTEP in every aspect, but the scoreboard and they've had a bye week to get ready for this game. The QB situation is unfortunate, but the new kid coming in has great running ability and is very mobile and has a decent arm. He's been at the program for two years, so he's seen a lot. Both coaches are very familiar with each other being assistants at Iowa sometime back and I feel the kids will play hard for him against his old buddy....I just feel this is way too many points as SDST's "D" is underrated as they held UTEP to 38 yds rushing and had 4 int's!! I know they gave up 34 pts, but the stats show they played WAY better than that.....This is Wisconsin and not UTEP, but I like SDST for a small play here!

Also a life long Bama fan checking in. Not trying to talk you out of your play. Bama offensive line is not very good this year. Have not had 100 yards rusing in either game and the opponents were Hawaii and Vanderbilt, not your defensive powerhouses by any means. The surprising and best point has been rookie QB Wilson, who may throw a better pass than Brodie Croyle and we have some talanted receivers. Best point to your wager is they are playing Monroe:mj07:

...hardly a bama fan, but... :mj07: :142smilie :mj07:

Not that it matters, but...picked up bama's rb's in a college fantasy league because of the weak schedule and figuring that they would have to run with Darby to help out the new QB. Let's just say that I dropped them this week...and we all know who they're playing. They may cover, but when I see what I saw and I hear what I've heard (from the locals), I have to say no to laying chalk with bama.... :nono:

Thanks guys....I hear what you all are saying about Bama, but they come up a play with my capping this week. The final score might be around the number, but I feel Bama gets it done whether it's barely or comfortably when the clock says 0:00. I honestly don't see Monroe scoring many points at all this week.......

Right Side that Hawaii line is to 12 right now. I know you got it at 10. I was wondering your thoughts on that game and at what point would you lay off this game as the line moves? TIA.

I wouldn't worry too much about the points....I was going to lay the number what it ever it was when it came out. I jumped on it right away though, but 12-13 is still solid. UNLV is a bad road team and also their QB is banged up.....throw in that they are also 5-12 L/17 ATS and 8-23 L/31 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. I'm not much of a stats guy which is a very small factor in my capping, but I just see Hawaii having two weeks to prepare for this coming out ready to go! Don't go too crazy with this as anything could happen, but I really like Hawaii here at home!

Meant to check back in and say congrats on your Bama pick. They finally wore them down in the second half and pulled away. Key play in third quarter, Monroe went for it on 4th and 1 from their OWN 29, got stopped, easy Bama score and the rout was on. Good call!
