Saturda is when the strong spread their wings and start focusing on the big prize!
Georgetown - 13 Hamptons win had more to do with Iowa st faltering then hampton's awe inspiring play. Hoyas feast on weak opponents ( see non conference schedule in Nov and Dec ) and their physical play and in your face defense should spell the end for hampton. Can't see hampton scoring more then 50 here and if Hoyas hold then there they should cover this number.
Georgia state +14 With due respect to our host, i have lost a bundle on Gary Williams over the years expecting his team to be motivated to put a beating on a weak opponent. State came out cold vs. Wisconsin but maryland defense will not put that type of effort. State should feel more comfortable with the up tempo style of maryland and be able to hang in 1st half. The longer they hang, the better the points look. maryland good FT shooting could spell a late game cover for terps as State will not give up and can be counted on to foul til the end. Small play on Georgia State.
BC -2 Eagles close to home and should have good fan support. troy Bell showed why he is the leader of this team with a gutty 2nd half effort in opening round, scoring 15+ in 2nd half after scoring only 2 in opening 20 minutes. Very even game on paper but will back BC giving up the small number.
Duke -19 In a tourney where the points have been the play, Duke will continue to be the exception. Mizzo let georgia back in game after having them down 15-0. Duke will not be that nice. A lapse of concentration here will spell doom for the Tigers. Duke spells blood better then any team around and given the chance will bury the Tigers.
Stanford - 12 BEST BET St joes has not seen a team like the cards all year. A-10 is a guard conference with mediocre big men at best. The Collins twins will have their way early, forcing St Joes to play catch up with the three ball. Stanford wins by 20+
