Grizzlies vs. Mavericks

This game reminds me a lot of the Clippers vs. Warriors game earlier this season, when the Clippers could not hang with the Warriors in their second meeting in Golden State. They were coming off a huge win streak, having just lost to the Nuggets in Denver. Emotionally, they were completely flat and just didn?t even show up to play. I feel the same way about the Grizzlies tonight. They have had a super impressive win streak, and last night it culminated with an overtime win against the Spurs, where twice in the last minutes of the game they came back to tie and take the lead (thank you, Darrell Arthur!! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!).

Now they have to travel on no rest to Dallas, and play a Mavericks team that is also coming off a grind it out impressive overtime win over the Kings. In a game in which they trailed most of the time, they finally eeked out an overtime win (the first time they have won one in overtime in eleven tries).

Dirk Nowitzki: ?For some reason down the stretch, it almost looks like we?re making plays to lose, and not making plays to go ahead and win. But we finally got the overtime streak over. Hopefully that lifts us up.? The Mavericks after an overtime win are 13-1 SU (+8.8 ppg) in their last 14 (granted they have been favored in most of these).

This is the Grizzlies fifth game in seven nights. Their next game is against the Clippers, which at this point in the season is a much bigger game. The Mavericks lost by 10 to the Grizzlies earlier this season, but they did not have Nowitzki or Brand in that game, and it was also the second game in a back to back, after they played Miami at home. The Mavericks are 11-4 SU and 9-5-1 ATS in their last fifteen at home when seeking same season revenge.

The Grizzlies are clearly the better team here, but this is a spot where they are going to come out emotionally and physically flat.

Rockets vs. Sixers

After their grueling road trip and schedule the last couple weeks, this game is a big atonement spot for the Sixers. They were demolished by the Rockets earlier this season, and now get them in a tough spot after two road losses, playing on a back to back, and their fourth in five days. Not going stat crazy on this one. Doug Collins will have his team ready tonight. That?s all.

Magic vs. Clippers

The Clippers at home this season are 18-3 (+12.9 ppg) and 15-6 ATS. Since December, they have won twelve straight home games, by an average margin of 17.6 ppg. They are 10-2 ATS in these games. Since December, they are 12-0 SU vs. teams with a losing record, winning by an average of 15.7 ppg (three of these games were on the road). In their last 10 vs. eastern conference opponents, they are 9-1 SU (+12.7 ppg) and 8-2 ATS. At home before playing their next game on the road, they are 7-0 SU (+19.4 ppg) and 6-1 ATS in the last seven. In a win in which they trailed at the end of the third quarter this season, they are 4-0 SU (+19.5 ppg) and ATS.

Opponents that are coming off a win in which they trailed by at least 10, when playing a team that was leading at the end of the third quarter but lost, are 14-0 SU (+14.1 ppg) in the last fourteen. The refs for this game today are a combined 11-1 ATS for 10+ point home favorites in their last 12. I think the Clippers come out strong after their struggles against the Mavericks in the last game.

I won't be surprised in the Magic slip through the back door, but I will eat the early afternoon chalk in this one.

Mavericks +2 x2
Sixers +1
Clippers -12.5

A couple other game notes for today...

Talk about domination... the Heat are 15-1 SU (+12.8 ppg) and 13-2 ATS in their last 15 meetings with the Kings. The Kings are coming off an overtime loss where they led almost the entire game. This line is ridiculous, but there is no way I?m betting on the Kings in this spot!!

John Wall returns tonight for the Wizards.

And finally, the most important game today...let's go BRONCOS!!

Good luck...
