Tough lines tonight. I make up my own lines and think in Vegas I'm within 1 point on every game . Today I should make a bounce pass and sit out but nooooo Can't do that. I loved Miami yesterday Thought the line was off and pounded it. Took a chance with Peter because thought the line was way to high and I had my star HS player go there, Went to many games in Jersey City and I handicap the MAAC conf since I lived near Poughkeepsie for most of my life. Now retired here in Austin and Tex St and the Sun Conf I have adopted . I know and capp Conf USA because of North Texas .
Houston -2.5 over Nova **
Watching Houston yesterday and there defense was amazing. And they lost their top scorer . Nova has Collins at the point and you all know pt gds are premium in my handicapping system . I have believed that as a coach and have carries it over to capping. Coogs do have players that are quick laterally and that could slow down Colin somewhat. Small lean and hate going against Jay Wright but taking Houston. But if I had any brains would bounce pass this and sit it out.
Duke -4 over Ark **
Same thing as above. I had Duke at -3 and its 4. No big advantage . Best Player on the court is Banchero even though JD feels the same . Think this game comes to the final minute with Duke up by 3 and Ark fouls and puts Coach K's kids on the FT line. Tough game to capp even with all the analytics I really would love to see duke go down but think they stay alive for another day
Both games are small plays . Like Miami tomr over Kansas . I thought KU would be a -8 or -9 fav buts its -6.
St Petes is still alive.. Love it But those kids played with there hearts out . My player that played there in the late 80's died of pancreatic cancer 2 years ago. His wife text me last night and we both said Scott is right next to St Peter in the clouds watching the game on a huge big screen TV and I;m sure guiding those Peacocks to a victory ..
Thadche thanks for the nice words . This business of capping is crazy If I knew what I was doing I would be on a beach in the caymons sitting .by the water with a " bud" in my hands .. but I did come back from Vegas after the Vir- North Texas game with a thick wallet good luck tonite

Thanks Box! Think I?ll wait until tomorrow for my solid college bet. I was slightly leaning Nova but don?t feel good about either game. (I kinda sneaky like Peters tomorrow though. We?ll see.)

Tonight I went with what I know: the NBA. Have the MIL and MIA moneylines. Would be nice to know for sure who?s playing re the former, but only get so long in the casino now on a friends? trip.

good thadchr Actually cheering for Nova
When my HS team beat the defending state champions at Hofstra Jay was the Hof coach and welcomed us into the gym Took us to the locker rooms Then a few hours later when we beat the LI champions and now made the final 4 are locker room was going crazy. Jay popped his head in our locker room and said " I'm not supposed to be in here but good luck next week and enjoy your win" He shook my hand and said that was a great game coach down to the last few seconds . Now outside the 2 other teams were warming up. It was Peekskill vs Wally Scherback teams Elton vs Wally THe two top D-1 players in the state of NY . I knew the Peekskill coach Lou P who earlier knocked on our door asking us to quiet down since he was giving his pre-game speech in the same visiting locker room geeting ready to play Wallys team . Elton brand walked in to con-graduate us sice he played on an AAU team with my best player. I looked at Lou at the door and told him your welcome to come and try to quiet down my players. He looked at me and laughed I said good luck in your game, I'll see you in Glen Falls next week hopefully . Peekskill and Elton did beat Wally and the following week they won the state championship I won the 1st game and lost in the finals .
But Jay Wright stayed another year or two at Hofstra and then went to Villanova . Real classy coach and a good coach too

That doesn?t shock me. Jay has always seemed like a class act? certainly knows how to coach a basketball team, especially at the guard position. Checking in on the score now I kinda wish I had hammered them, but I just didn?t have enough genuine knowledge, and the Vegas futures favoring Houston to win the whole thing spooked me.

Awesome story about your team though. That?s be super cool, being ?on the inside? in a D1 gym, especially brushing elbows with legendary coaches before they were huge names.

Well the NBA games were an utter disaster? have rarely felt so inept as a gambler, taking two MLs and having both my teams down about 18 at halftime. Maybe shoulda just stuck with my gut and hammered Nova. Not sure if I?ll be around the book much today, but have a couple units on the Peters ML that would break me even. Would be an awesome story to have them meeting Duke in the Final Four, but then again Duke playing UNC would be an equally fitting narrative; same with 4 all-time power programs as the last 4 standing. More fun to root for the underdog though! Curious to hear your thoughts on today?s games Box.
