Just hang out down at the Riverwalk and grab some oysters and brews. Fun to watch the Cargo ships maneuver the river. At night, a place I have eaten at several times is the Pink House. Great food, piano bar in the basement at night, a lot of atmosphere. Mansion on Forsythe is nice as well, upstairs bar and patio. Also, City Market area is bustling and has many good restaurants. This is where Paula Deen's restaurant is (Lady and Son's). Good southern cooking buffet but the wait is ridiculous. Lot of hole in the wall bars here as well. Hope that helps.

There are a couple good poker rooms down in Jax which is only about an hour away if you care for that.

Churchills is a great bar to check out on Bay st. Everything that Wineguy said is spot on. Lady and Sons is good but overblown due to the TV coverage and whatnot. Although I can say that Paula is as nice in person as she appears to be on the show.

Wineguy mentioned Pink House... from what i've heard that is the place to be in Savannah as far as restaurants go.

If you like BBQ, there is a place called Wall's BBQ. It is a little difficult to find as it is actually only accessible in a alley way- no joke. The owners are very freindly, the food is great and the price is good too. I think there are only 3 or 4 tables in it but that doesn't matter as it appears most of the locals take everything to go.

Pink House is definitely a good place to eat. Ate there several times and only have high praise. River walk is fun. Ghost tour was also fun for the misses and I. We really like Savannah!

There is an Irish place down on the Riverwalk that is awesome.. Sheparp's Pie is highly recommended.

I live in Savannah just noticed the thread a little while ago.

Obviously River St and city market have a ton of bars and places to hang out. If you are into Southern history there are trolleys you can take (or the ghost tours).

If you are with your wife you can wait outisde for hours to eat Paula Deans restaurant.

The Pink house is nice, also tubbys on river st.

I don't know how old you are, so its hard to recommend what bars to go too.

Try to stay east of MLK street, otherwise pack heat

Im sure you know this but you can carry around alcohol in savannah (no bottles) .. one of the pluses to living here.

thanks guys.

down there for work with a bunch of old college pals.

I ate dinner at Churchhill's pub and enjoyed some of the nice beers they have there. In particular, the 3 philosopher's beer. wow. delish!

had pizza at the lil pizza house on the corner where everyone seemed to congregate.

did a lil bar walk up and down river street and market place and all that. not much time to drink though.
Gotta admit, I was shocked and had no clue of the british flair the town seemed to have. a nice surprise.
