Anyone hear of the website upromise.com? Deals with corporations giving you money back on your purchase of their products... they put like 3% in one of those educational 529 type accounts for a kid. You just register your credit/debit card with them and it is all done electronically.

Anyone have any dealings with them? Legit? Or I am I going to start getting slammed with emails, flyers in the mail, and phone calls from marketing people?

I never have. Only deals I ever new about or got like that were. The GI bill and the company I worked for. Sounds alittle like more maybe involved.

I remember them getting started, certainly seemed legit from all that I read. Don't know of anyone who has signed up though. Aren't the companies involved some well-known household names?

Movin back to Cali!
Marine, I signed up for that about a year ago... and it's legit, but you do get spammed from it. You literally earn like $1.00 a year from them (at the time, only a couple places were supporting Upromise like Mobile Gas Stations).

I just kind of forgot about it and stopped doing it because I'm lazy about stuff like that. I say... hey, free money is free money and if you have an extra couple hundred for the kid from this deal, some spam is worth it, right?

PS - Get any sleep lately since the baby arrived? ;)

There are grocery stores and everything now that do the upromise thingy. So I will give it a whirl and let you guys know how easy it is to use.

Marine, I signed up a few months ago and it seems well worth it. You register your credit cards and debit card for stuff like gas @ Mobil & Exxon and get 1c per gallon. You sign up @ participating grocery stores for their store cards and register those cards with upromise and when you purchase a product that is in the program you get a certain percentage credited to your UPROMISE account. GM is in it too, if you buy a GM vehicle they credit your account with $150 I believe...
