back after a little break - and cannot see why Centrebet have pushed out Rachels to 60/1 for this weeks event - good current form - even when defending last week had he taken his normal 29 putts per round instead of 35 in round 2 he would have tied for the lead.

I think I have come to conclusion that places wagers on this tour are not a viable option. After reviewing this week I found that the weekly chalk of Irwin,Watson,Kite,Fleisher and Gilder average playing 23.6 events between them and took up 50 of the top 5 spots between them with Irwin a whooping 16 top 5's in 25 events. Don't leave many spots open, especially for place wagers of 8/1 or greater. Will wait till age levels this playing field some and probably resort to coat tailing only next year on this tour as it is without a doubt we have a couple that rock this tour yearly.

Yep, agree with Rachels, although the fearless 'dragon' at Centrebet had slashed the price by the time I got there.

Doug Tewell - the 25/1 with five places at Surrey would be worth a big bet if this event hadn't changed course..however, he still has some decent course form from way back in the Texas Open, so he still has a first rate chance

Gil Morgan - haven't quite forgiven him for pulling out the last time I backed him, but another decent price imo - he has finished 2nd and 5th here a million years ago.

Just those three for me, but will be interested to see how Watson plays as he won the Tour Championship here.

Outright plays (2 units):

Tom Watson to win 10/1 e.w. @ BetInternet or SkyBet
Watson returns to the course where he won the inaugural Tour Championship in 1987. It is a long time since that victory and a long time since his last victory on this Tour (Senior PGA Championship, May 2001), but after having had four 2nd places this year, he will surely win soon though the each-way option is probably the safe play at the moment.

Gil Morgan to win 25/1 e.w. @ Five Dimes (1 unit to win & 1 unit to finish in top-5)
Dr. Gil is not as competitive as he was last year, but he has won once this season (BellSouth Senior Classic) and has been very consistent over the past few months - 2nd on his last appearance and five top-10 finishes in his last six starts. With a good history on this course from his PGA Tour days - top-5 in his last two visits - and in this event at its previous location, he looks a good candidate for a top-5 finish.

Larry Nelson to win 25/1 e.w. @ Paddy Power
Nelson will be rueing the change of venue. At the Dominion he had finished 4th, 2nd and 1st in three starts in this event. Hopefully he can bring some of that form to Oak Hills. He hasn't played since disappointing in the SAS Championship last month, but had been in good form previously. He had finished in the top-15 in his previous eight Senior Tour starts and looks another who should go close to a top-5 finish.

Bruce Leitzke 14/1 bet365.

Texas resident (also uni there) and has a great PGA record in the state. Had a break since his last outing (SAS winner 22/9) and I hope he has spent some of the time practising at this new venue.

Taken some 14/1 but he quite often starts slowly and I could better it in-running.... though I don't want to wish for too bad a start!!

Matchup plays (2 units):

Bruce Fleisher to beat Bob Gilder -125 @ Five Dimes
Siding with Fleisher who has been the more consistent player this season - 20 top-10 finishes this season to Gilder's 10 and seven in his last eight starts - plus he has beaten Gilder in three of the last four tournaments.

Tom Watson to beat Bruce Fleisher -111 @ BetandWin
Just see Watson as a potential winner this week and while Fleisher is very consistent, just don't see him winning.

Ray Floyd to beat Walter Hall -111 @ BetandWin
Shame this event has moved from the Dominion where Floyd is the horse for the course. He has played in this eight times and has finished 5th, 2nd, 6th, 3rd, 10th, 18th, 7th and 5th. Hoping some of that sentiment for this event will be carried over to Oak Hills this week. Having finished just once this season (10 events) outside the top-30, he should have another week in the SBC Championship.

After his uncharacteristic fast start yesterday during play I was thinking I hadn't put enough on Bruce Leitzke and the price had gone. Luckiliy or unluckily? He spoils his card with a double bogey on the last.... giving me the chance to top up a bit and the 14/1 can definitely be beaten with at least 22/1 at William Hill.

There now seems a scarcity of books pricing up in-running for the Seniors....

Final update:

Matchups: 1-2-0; -2.72 units

Fleisher/Gilder LOST by 11
Watson/Fleisher WON by 8
Floyd/Hall LOST by 1

Outrights: 2-1; +3.50 units

Watson 4th
Morgan 5th
Nelson 38th

A break-even week. Floyd led Hall all week until he bogeyed the last hole, but Watson and Morgan were always off the pace and top-5 finishes were decent results in the end.

Senior PGA Tour ytd
Matchups: 13-13; +0.99 units
Outrights: 23-47; +77.50 units
