First bet for Loch Lomond for me is Matt Kuchar - already a winner on the PGA tour this year - he then stupidly broke a bone in his foot playing basketball during the Players Championship! - seems back to form with a 5th in the Fedex he played this course 3 times as an amateur - best finish on his last visit in 2000 when he was top 25, 80/1 is a decent price at UK Betting

Decided to reinvest a bit on Soren Hansen - last weeks m/c was hardly a surprise and he played well here last year - 66/1 at Ladbrokes.
And for the other - a quick quiz - which American has won twice this year already and three times last year and plays at Loch Lomond? Answer - Dean Wilson (on the Japanese tour!) - much as I am tempted by the 330/1 from Centrebet I doubt he could get into contention and stay there but Coral have a top US market up which is quite weak (Kuchar excepted!) and at 40/1 he could be worth an e/w nibble

Scott 50/1 Willhill. 3rd last year and 12th in 2000. Hasn't played well lately but that's reflected in the price.

Lehman 40/1 Willhill. Former winner here who loves this course. Showed some form when he was 7th in the Buick Classic.

Fasth 30/1 Centrebet. An in-form player who was 6th last week and 2nd in the Irish Open. 14th last year.

Couldn't decide between Els & Goosen so will try smaller stakes on Barry Lane 100/1 Sporting Odds (110 betfair). Think he won a Scottish Open when it was played at Gleneagles. 3rd over C/D last year. In decent form this season, 9th last week and B & H 2nd.

Els 10/1 @ Sportingbet
Goosen 11/1 @ Sports.co.uk both 2 Units win only.

Not very inspired selections but with such stand-out credentials will invest a little. So many ifs and buts looking down the field I think the 2 SAs have a great chance between them.

72-Hole Matchups:

72-Hole Matchups:

Rose v Langer 9/10 @ Ladbrokes 4 Units.

Last 3 times Rose has missed the cut he has come back the following week with finishes of 1st-3rd-1st. He played 4 solid rds here last yr and I expect a top-25 from him this week. Langer has MCd here on his previous 3 visits to the Loch. His game has been in terrible shape compared to the form of 2001. He has not shot a rd in the 60s since mid-April and with a course playing severly wet will test his game more than Roses. As long as Rose doesn't implode early there should be a sizable gap between the players all week.

Romero v Jimenez 4/6 @ Sportingbet 3 Units.

Hate the price but the quality gap is to immense. This course is perfect for Romeros game. Jimenez has had a shocking yr in Yankville and I doubt he'll do better than t-50 this week. The consistency of Eduardos game this season has been exemplary.

Adding:

Woosnam to Miss the Cut 9/4 @ Chandler 1.5 Units.

He has already hinted that if the course turns into a swimming pool he'll be pulling out. He has some ghosts to deal with at the Open this yr and doubt he'll be risking his back in heavy conditions this week. Hoping he'll pull out after a 6-hr 1st rd nightmare.
