Dilfer has been named the starter for this week, not Hasselback. Hasselback couldn't practice today, Holmgren going with Trent.

Hoops,

Maybe you are right, but in one of Nolan's "stunning developments", he mentioned that Dilfer was not starting and thus he was buying back and eating the juice on his over wager.

Who is right in this case? I'm so confused.

Dilfer is starting. I had to eat the early play because of reports that Holmgren said Hasselbeck is his starter when he gets back healthy. I figured that anyone with an IQ above the idiot level would relaize Dilfer gives this team a MUCH better chance to win, so assumed Dilfer was the starter this week. The contrasting reports on this game caused me to counter the bet. I'll take a .1 loss on the vig and pass on the game. Perperations had to have been disrupted this week and I'm not sure Dilfer's confidence will be helped my Holmgren's remarks that Hasselbeck is still #1 on the depth chart.

my question is:

will seattle be able to control the line of scrimmage defensively? can they shut down the run and make a game of it, like balt did?

No they cannot stop the run....
How many picks will Trent throw this week against a very good Denver secondary ??

I'm not even going to post any analysis on this game.

Denver blows Seattle out. PERIOD.AMEN.

According to the USA Today, last 7 games in this series have all been decided by 7 points or less and Seattle always hangs in tight at home against AFC West Rivals. Dilfer is at least somewhat-efficient at QB and not nearly as mistake-prone as Hasselback (then again, who is???)and although it was only one game, Shaun Alexander showed what he's capable of at RB. Also with Shawn Springs likely to be back to try and slow down Rod Smith and no McCaffrey for Denver, the Broncos offensive balance clearly not as explosive as what it used to be. Also, Seahawks tied for 6th against the run, so they are very improved in that area. Would lean toward Seattle +7 at home, but will probably end up passing on this game, as there are better ones on the board. Good luck to all in whatever you decide to play.
