Last friday around 1:00pm, I was heading to the office after completing several errands etc, I was hammered by a 22yr old driving a DHL van, he hit me on the passenger side rear, spun me and rolled over my wifes 2005 chevy tahoe twice before resting upside down in the middle of the road.I was so angry because he blew a flashing red light and a stop sign. I climbed out and told him that I was going to kick his !#$, but once I got out I came to my senses. If wasn't wearing my seat belt, I would be dead, no doubt in my mind after seeing the damage to the suv(totaled. The only injury was minor cuts on 1 hand and I'm a little sore. That seat belt was so tight I just rolled with the suv, just like an amusement park ride.:scared

ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEAT BELTS,IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE.

Thanks for reading

Glad you came out of it ok. Many are not so lucky.

You can still be killed in a crash even with the belt on , but lets face it , its alot better to wear it.

I also smashed a windshield with my head in a accident. Minor concussion and so sore I couldnt walk for a week.

Always wear mine now.

i have a very good friend who also refuses to wear his seatbelt...you both are very foolish....all it takes is one mistake by somebody else to change your life.

skulldog....glad that you wound up in one piece.

Grew up with a Dad as a Fire Chief and a Mom as a physical Therapist.

Seen one too many head injuries that could have been avoided.

First thing I do whenever I get in any car is buckle up.

Glad you are safe....

Glad your OK Skulldog. I volunteer on the saftey team where I work at and you just made a big point I try to get across that nobody listens too:

It doesn't have to be your fault to kill you.

People tell me they don't wear a seat belt because they are always careful :sadwave:

On the course!
Foe some insane reason, I always buckle up when I drive, and almost never do when I ride.

Not to turn this political, but i now think i will make more of an effort to wear mine from here on out.

i never wear one much, due to the fact that i am being told to wear one.

i don't think that it is a government's duty to make it unlawful to wear one, their duty is to inform us of the hazards and dangers, and let us make "informed" decisions on what to do with our lives.

but after seeing this i will rest my rebellious ideas and wear my belt.

Oddly enough, as much as I support wearing a seat belt I agree with you that it is not the Govt's job to tell me I have to wear one.

I see where you are coming from, but for your own good and those who care about you, buckle up.
