In a prepared statement released by the organization, Hargrove said he was stepping aside because his "passion has begun to fade" and it would not be "fair to myself or the team" to continue.
Something has to be going on in that club house we don't know about... gonna be hitting blue jays hard for sure.
Citing a fading passion for the game, the veteran skipper, who has 191 wins since coming to the Mariners, told his team at an 11 a.m. meeting just before talking to the press.
The Mariners are playing their best baseball of the season, so much so that Hargrove, who has been the target of fan wrath the past two seasons, is no longer under fire.
But he's apparently choosing this time to leave when the club is on a good roll to step down.

His mom passed several years ago and his dad may be in poor health. He may also what to spend more time with his sons, one of which I believe was drafted, not sure when.
