Sehorn Expected to Play
MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 18 ? Jason Sehorn, the Giants' star right cornerback, was added to the team's injury list today because of soreness in his right knee. Sehorn, who did not practice Saturday, was listed as probable, and the team said it expected him to play Monday night when the Giants face the Minnesota Vikings.
Sehorn customarily covers Randy Moss exclusively, and was instrumental in limiting Moss, the Vikings' Pro Bowl wide receiver, to just 2 catches for 18 yards when the teams met in last season's National Football Conference championship game.
Sehorn had not been on the injury list because the Giants said there was no concern that he would not play. But the team would face a fine if it did not list Sehorn and he ended up sitting out.
Sehorn's surgically rebuilt right knee flared up in training camp and required arthroscopic surgery in August to clean out debris. That caused him to miss the season opener in Denver. He has had discomfort in the knee periodically since then but has not missed a game.
Should Sehorn not play or be inhibited by the injury, the rookie Will Peterson will replace him. Will Allen, another rookie, will start at left cornerback.
