Had a nice day yesterday going 26-10 (i am adding up "units" I did not really make 36 different selections yesterday, although it felt that way). But, I finally found that winning streak I had been looking for. Lets try and keep it going with the light card today. My March Madness record is 69-50-4 and thanks to yesterday's strong close, I have surpassed my season high for units above the .500 mark.

Clemson +5.5 over UNC. Single Play
Over 155. Single Play.

Do these teams have another thriller in them. Their two other matchups this year both went into OT and soared over the posted total in the lower 160s. Clemson had the Heels beaten both times, but somehow UNC survived. If Clemson can survive the first opening sequences and not let the magnitude of the ACC title get in their heads, they will be the Heels every step of the way. Clemson basically led for most of those two previous games, so i expect them to get out ahead of UNC. They shot better than UNC in those two games and they played to a draw on the boards. Taking the underdog and the over kind of bucks traditional wisdom, but I like to do it strategic spots. We have the #2 and #19 scoring offenses going up against the #185th and #263rd scoring defenses. I see a 84-81 final score. Win or lose, I hope its as exciting as the first two gaes they played.

Looks like it will be a furious finish in the ACC title game. Need 7 points in the final four minutes to get the Over. The side can go either way. That hook might just come in handy.

Big 12 Championship Game.

Texas +6 over KU. Double Play.

Lots of NBA talent on the floor in this one. Just like there is everytime the Horns and Hawks tangle. Texas has covered three in a row against KU--all as an underdog--and are 9-5 ATS vs the Hawks in their last 14 head to head, including 7 of the last nine. Bottomline is I always take Texas when they are catching points. Since the start of the 2000-01 season, the Horns are 36-22 ATS. They are 5-2 this year and have already covered and won outright as a dog over Tenn, UCLA and KU this season. Maybe I a wallking into a public dog trap, but one of the things I look for going into every season is the Horns as a Dog. Riding it out here with a Double Play in what should be a fun game to watch.

Over 140. Single Play. While these teams do love to play D, there is more than enough offensive talent for a nice scoring fest to break out. I see both teams in the 70s.

Good Luck!

Finally got a little luck there for a change at the end of the UNC/Clem game. That was an easy cover, right!?!?!

Final two games, the SEC and Big 10 Championship Games. All Single Plays.

UGA +8 over Arky. Its been an underdog haven in the SEC this weekend. The Dog is 8-2 in this tourney. I will stay on that with a Bulldog team that has covered 7 of 9 as an underdog since the start of February. They are playing for their season today. These teams only played once this year, a 13-point UGA win, so the Bulldogs dont feel like they are some sort of overmatched Cinderella. Hardly. Yes, I am worried about their legs, but the Hogs played a very high level, exhausting game as well yesterday.

Arky/UGA Over 130. This game will be played in the high 60s. Think we're looking at a 69-66 game.

Illinois +7 over Wisconsin. If you cant beat them, join them. Illinois has been killing me this weekend. They play games close, but cant ever see to make the right plays down the stretch to get the win. That has changed during the last 72 hours. I see the Wizz is on them, and its always worth at least a flier when he likes a particular underdog. I'll give it a shot. I see Wisco slugging out a 55-51 ball game.

Good Luck! :weed:

Thanks Guys! Yeah, I was all over that. I even had it capped that the refs wouldn't whistle a foul there with two seconds to go. :SIB

Seriously, though, the Clemson choke job in Chapel Hill last month was a bad beat that stands out for me this year, so it was somewhat appropriate that some good karma shined on me in this particular game.

Been another interesting day in hoops so far. Brackets to be announced in 90 minutes. KU and Texas are playing about as good a basketball game we will see on any level this season.

Oh, and UGA is making somebody very very very nervous right now.
