How many here have used the self check-out lines at HEB?

From the few times I've paid attention, they really don't move faster than normal lines. In fact, I think they're slower because people are more deliberate (they think they're being watched).

Also, what's the point of making me scan my own groceries? Is it really cutting costs all that much?

Was this a good idea or a bad idea?

LOL You're probably right freeze but I'm sure more than a little have been to an HEB somewhere before in their lifetime.

**EDIT** Well, after reading nj's post you might be right! HEB is a major supermarket chain here in Texas.

Also, I've always thought grocery stores should do their lines by specific methods of payment. One line for credit cards, one line for cash, and one line for checks so all those check-writing cocksuckers could sit behind themselves and realize just how fuhking long it takes.

Holy shit! Look what I just found.....The Link

Any person that counts the items of someone in front of them to see if they are one over needs to take a step back and evaluate their life for a minute. I mean come on, there are bigger things in life to get worked up about. These are the kind of people that have heart attacks at 30 years old.

I like the self-checkouts. Sometimes they take just as long because people have a hard time with them, but they will speed up. Remember how long people used to take at ATMs? I know there are still those slow-asses in the ATM line, but there are fewer now.

Embrace technology! I also think that this is just the first step in making grocery (or any) shopping quicker. I think at some point, you will scan your items before you place it in your cart, then you will just walk out when you are done. Maybe not exactly like that, but something similar.

I like the one on one you get with the Cute little Cashiers! Sometimes you can make some serious headway with the girls if you use your resources wisely!

I guess if you are buying a 6'er and a dozen Rubbers it probably wouldn't pay off to go through the cute chicks line, but if your buying some ice cream and a pie and act all said and say somehting like I can't believe that Beeaatch left me! She might give you a sympathy piece!!!!! It has worked before!!!

Take off Monk!!!!! ahh yes the sympathy piece!
