Again I've been snaffling early prices - 80/1 Jenkins at Centrebet - the 60/1 still good value, William Hill just do not seem to rate Thorpe very highly - gone for him again at 40/1 and final choice goes to someone Clive suggested at a big price - Dick Mast - ignore last week and he played well the 2 before and had his highest place ever here last year - 150/1 Stan James

transferred to place@ SIA 1 unit
Doughtery 10/1

Not doing well with the beards as not much available in odds of place wagers. May re-evaluate soon and stick to just coat tailing crew here which has served me well to date.

Was tempted by Quigley on his event form and near miss last week but instead will give Bob Gilder another chance. With three top 3's in his last 5 outings and a top 10 here last year he must be considered. Took the 20/1 at Surrey for the 5th place.

He is 25 at betandwin but I could not manage to log-on or view their place terms - what are they usually on the seniors?

Irwin to beat Kite (1.71 at 365.com) - 2 points.
Irwin continues to be just awesome this season and is clear favourite in front of Kite by some way in outirghts. Head to head vs Kite this year he is 5-1.

Clive,
The PGA players to follow page on your site is not working.

Just for fun I was trying to get some idea of how many bets you have each week, after you saying after the event you had backed Rachels as he was one of your players to follow....

I know you tipped 13 players across 4 events last week and assuming you have 4 players to follow in the PGA (like 4 in Euro) that makes 14 players to follow. I assume sometimes they don't all play and other times you may tip a player who is a player to follow anyway thus reducing the number of bets... I understand now why you take the piss about my bets and refuse to consider players under 20/1... what is your average number of bets per week?.... or do you stop counting after about 25.... :D

Outright plays (2 units):

Larry Nelson to win 20/1 e.w. @ Stan James
Just dropping Doyle from last week's selections and replacing him with Nelson who had been a very consistent top-20 player this season, but did not record a top-10 finish until a month ago at the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf. Last week he was in contention throughout and finished just one shot outside the playoff. Finished 4th in 1999 on only visit, so should be set for another decent week.

Bob Gilder to win 20/1 e.w. @ Surrey
Looked like he could secure another high finish last week, but had a disappointing final round after getting himself into contention on the Saturday. As outlined last week, he had had three top-3 finishes in four events and looks to be in good form. Top-10 finish last year as well.

Jim Thorpe to win 40/1 e.w. @ Sportsinteraction or William Hill
Never got started last week and the weather delays wouldn't have helped him recover his position either. Won the week before and has an impressive and consistent record on this course, so the 20/1 on offer at Surrey had been expected. Would have been a marginal choice at those odds, but not given William Hill's and SIA's offerings!

Market moving around all over the place...Quigley was top of the list but scared off by that short price, bmad!

So have gone for;

John Jacobs 40/1 Centrebet, which is just to big a price
Jim Thorpe 40/1 looks back to his best and has respectable course form
and
Tom Jenkins who would surely have been placed last week had he not had to play 30 holes on Saturday...took 80/1 earlier at Cbet, 60 was there yesterday, but haven't had chance to look today.

B'mad...personally don't back Players to Follow every week, although did with Rachels last week, and Zoeller this...am beginning to wish I'd stayed loyal to Tschetter this week too. I certainly haven't backed Ollie since his win at 50/1...no value left there...would probably advise to stop at a winner! Haven't backed Donaldson either yet, but he's started well today.

I think it's really difficult to keep a to follow list in profit, ever tried it with the horses? but that list is well in front..winners at 50, 100, 28 and 33 and lots of places inc a 2nd at 100/1. PGA players page seems ok now?

As for no of bets in an event, that is strictly to do with price...if there are 20 value bets in one event I'll have 20 bets.

This week though; BandH 4..not inc Goose!
BNelson 4
LPGA 5
TD Seniors 5

Of those 18 only 8 are what I consider to be decently staked bets, and as you'd expect they are in the LPGA and Senior events...proof of the pudding is in the eating of course and this has been my best year ever..hope it continues.

Also true to say that the arrival of Centrebet onto the LPGA and Senior scene has made a big difference and compensated somewhat for the loss of Bold, Betsmart, and the much missed Multisports. Although Cbet trim quickly they will lay a decent bet after approval. Shame you have to provide them with your life history to be able to bet.

3rd round is cancelled due to weather so scores after 2 rounds stand, Lietske wins by two from Larry Nelson. A shame as it was looking like an interesting last round with a class leaderboard.

Irwin beats Kite by two in my only play.

Drat and double drat... nearly did Leitzke 9/1 at the start yesterday.... unlucky Stanley (Nelson)... is it just this year or do they always abandon the last round without much effort to play it in these Seniors & Ladies... going to have to watch the in-running very carefully.

Matchups: 0-1; -2.30 units

Thorpe/Purtzer LOST by 2

Outrights: 1-2; +0.00 units

Nelson 2nd
Gilder 66th
Thorpe 11th

Final round cancelled and that makes it twice this season that a Senior PGA Tour event has had the 3rd round cancelled and twice that a selection had been 2nd at the time! Disappointing.

Senior PGA Tour ytd
Matchups: 7-5; +2.47 units
Outrights: 8-18; +57.88 units
