Since I've given up on MLB, I am gonna start on the first days games....if wee all get together on these maybe we can get a nice start. Here are the lines that I've come up with. (these are not projected lines but rather the line I believe is right. Looking for possible value here.)

Ottawa 5.5
Toronto -.5 -105

Colorado 5.5 o-130
Pittsurgh -.5 +105

Edmonton -.5 +110
Calgary 5.5

I'll put in my looks and leans although I'll be laying low for the first week of pucks...

1) TORONTO-OTTAWA = nice little story here about revenge and bragging rights for the title of "best hockey city in Canada".
(this might not necessarily be true....)
Toronto has looked gawd-damn awful in preseason while Ottawa has more grit and heart in regular season games...but do they have the leadership...?
Personally, i do NOT think the LEAFZ should be favoured to win this game...I don't think home-field means JACK to them...

Well new to site, but looked in a lot at you guys towards the end of last year.

Usually take it easy early til I get a feel on the teams.

Early looks for Wednesday would be:

Ottawa plus the .5; revenge factors in like Toronto notes, but Ottawa plays Thursday in their home opener against Montreal

Colo/Pitt over; each team is allowing 4 goals against in preseason; unsure if that would be a trend here but seems good

Edmonton/calgary under; divison game and this might be my only real play; would also lean towards Edmonton; But LIKE Under here

I agree that the under in the EDM/CGY game is probably the best play on Wednesday. The teams played to a 3-3 draw the other night, but EDM?s backup goaltending was really quite poor with all three CGY goals coming on suspect shots. The other two preseason meetings produced 3 and 5 goals total. The under in any CGY game has always gotten serious consideration from me in past seasons. Also leaning toward EDM and OTT here but I will likely lay off bets until a week or two into the season.

What a way to start to season with battles of Ontario and Alberta! God I love hockey.

Under in the Calgary game is tempting but I hate to lay over -120 on an under and I think both teams will be very pumped on a clean sheet of ice to open the season. I am probably just going to play Calgary for this one.
