Against all odds, the Montreal Al's decided to give the starting running back job to.. Lawrence Phillips! instead of Pringle. Talk about a stupid move...:nono:
Pringle has been the horse of that team for so many years and he's among the best running back in the league. By benching him, he'll become the highest salary reservist in the CFL. Phillips left the team after just a few days of training, unhappy with his playing time, and should have been fines. Then, he returned and got the starting job even though Pringle has been superior to him during preseason? what kind of message this organisation is sending?
Pringle will probably ask to be trade (rumours about Saskatchewan or Edmonton) after the first game. In addition, lots of players have been forced to cut their payroll by the GM and guys are quite mad right now... The chemistry isn't as it best for a team that ended last year on a serious losing streak...
My guess is Montreal fans (as i'll do) will boos Phillips this tuesday!
I'm eager to find out the first week lines...
Winnipeg is now back on the West division with the arrival of the Ottawa Renegades.
Here's how i see the West division:
1. Winnipeg: Same team almost of last year. will get the job done this year!
2. Edmonton: Should do as well as last year. Just avoid injuries to their qb's because no depth there!
3. Saskatchewan: Yep, a surprise no? I see them much better with Green at Qb.
4. Calgary: The Champ 4th??? Lost many key players during the offseason...
5. Bc Lions: Aging qb will last all season? If their Dee is as good as last year and Damon Allen avoid injuries, they won't finish last in the division but it is a big ?...
East division:
1. Montreal: Yeah, i hear you! They should be, have to, must finish first because ON PAPER, they are the most talented team of the CFL with the Bombers but with what is going on right now with the team...??? I'm not sure anymore of seeing them first...
They could finish as far as third but because i'm an Al's fan, we'll say they'll finish first right?
2. Toronto: Joe Monfort to Toronto was the biggest move in the CFL during the offseason. Toronto will have a good Dee and will surprise many!
3. Hamilton: Loss too many key players and it will hurt them...
4. Ottawa: Tough to not put them at the bottom of the division. Brand new team with lack of depth at many positions. Anyhow, should be competitive in 2-3 years...
As soon as i get some lines, we'll start on that new season!
By the way, my pick to win the Grey Cup is the Winnipeg Bombers. After choking last year during the final, they will get the job done this year!
My record last year? I ended 26-10-1
Let's all have another nice season!
