Always wanted to start a poll :D

1/ It was a good idea because it helped forum visitors see how profitable the golf forum was and who the best golf posters were

2/ It was a bad idea because people became conscious about their posts (official plays vs non-official plays); people do not like to have their posts recorded every week; it was obviously rigged because the compiler finished top of both categories

Just asking for views ...

If it is not too much effort on your part I think it is great tool as it does not embarrass anyone on having bad week. Now if you had caption at bottom each week with worst performance, such as "ole dogs spit the bit to a tune of -20 units this week" that would be a different story:grins:

I don't mind either way. It is nice to post selections, and good to have the discipline of being counted, which we should all be doing ourselves anyway! The forum over at the other place is getting seriously big, interesting all the same. Not quite the same 'vibe' there was here last year though, perhaps it is the size. It may develop. There is certainly some opinion to be had now across the board though!

The books might be reading it as well...probably are...there is a lot of Keith Elliot getting quoted to. Great book, but we all have it, (well most of us) then we all have access to Timeform ratings on horses if we want them. Doen't mean you get the winner though...eventually add to the confusion that used to be just obtained by looking down the list of starters!

Going on a bit...was that a yes, just! byeee!

Not sure if the recaps are the most important things...to me it is the posting of people's opinions...if people stop doing that here then the recap becomes irrelevant.

Enjoy reading here as I like to hear the US angle, although I still don't understand what juice and chalk are!! But then again, DTB doesn't know how to bet eachway.

Also think it would be great if one of the MJ crew won Ian's money!

I am getting an education on each way though Clive. Will use it more this year but damn I hate to forfeit one wager if betting 2 players E/W. Something about that goes against my nature.
Juice is extra they charge you. If -120 to win 100 you would have 20 cents juice. Chalk is the fav as in Els and Rose this week.
That was easy,yes?
I like garys place also but this is home to me. I think his place may get a little large and confusing. Plus by being with the same mates here over the years you get a feel for each others strengths. ---and it makes coat tailing quite profitable. Picked up a tad of cheese from all at one time or another and as the saying goes-if it aint't broke----.--and speaking of coat tails Clive do you remember what Tewell paid at 5dimes the week you tipped him last year. I am thinking 40/1 but that surely can't be right.
