Anyone here know of any excellent football and/or basketball simulation games? Not really into the graphic minded games but strategy/statistical games like Diamond Mind Baseball. Thanks.

I've always been a fan of APBA (best if you'd like to recreate full seasons, or put together all star teams from last year's performances) or Stratomatic (which is best from a strategy viewpoint)...
You can play solo or with a friend - games take 20 minutes or so once you learn them. Both games have advanced versions that take longer to play, offer more strategy, but produce the same statistical results for the players (if you are into player stats)

Thanks. Having a realistic statistical outcome is most important and lots of play calling options. Not 25 or so choices but more like 50 or more. Basically have just done baseball in the past with Diamond Mind Baseball and PTP before that. Just something to do when I get bored and to see how certain strategies might play out.

Are you referring to "pursue the pennant"?

it's not REALLY a sim game but man, ncaa college football or madden in dynasty/franchise mode is sure alot of fun.

and most people don't realize it but you can actually call the plays and if you don't do anything the computer will run your play for you.

sorry but i need some graphics :D
