I'm not positive about this, because my time in the Apple these days is limited, but wasn't Rudy repeatedly banging his secretary in the Mayors mansion all the while while his wife was home tending to the homefront??

I could be missing something here, but in all honesty wasn't Clinton crusafied for a couple blow jobs?? How exactly is this not a total double standard for the new Republican wonder Boy??

you have a point.....neither infidelity should have any bearing on whether one can lead the country.....imo..

if that was the case, the kennedy`s would have been accountants....

I tend to agree with you here garden,I believe Giuliani & Clinton marital problems are just that THEIRS, and should have been between them and their wives.

But every republican in the country I know of thought otherwise and figured Clinton s marriage was their business, even saw fit to drag him into court & humiliate the shitt out of him and his wife. The name of the little panty sniffing scum who was responsible for continually dogging him escapes me. I can't believe I haven't heard a single whisper of this by conservatives, considering it was of Paramount importance with Clinton, and I believe the country spent upwards of 100 million investigating the whole Monica crisis.

Speaking of 'pro-choice'....quick question for someone: Since the republican party now has a republican president, republican contolled senate AND house of represenatives....along with a majority of Supreme court justices all at the same time....why haven't they done anything meaningful re a constitutional amendment about abortion? I mean, if it was all that important to them as they claim wouldn't the last 4 years been the time to do something?

The right wing talks about abortion this time in an election year as if it's the silent reason everyone should vote Republican yet they never seem to put togeather a constitutional amendment to change it. Why is that? Good grief, they've found the time and effort to try and get a amendment on gay marriage, why not something a thousand times more important (in their minds)? Heck, they're even going to find time to perhaps outlaw internet gaming later this year if Kyle has his way.

Could it be that 'abortion' is only a 'cheer' that surfaces every 4 years to get the right wingers elected? Why would they ever want to change it? It's the right wing politicans silent promise to the 'religious right' which will never be culminated because they'll always want their vote again next election. (And don't even mention the partial birth abortions which are about a million/one ratio). Just curious. Thoughts??

what was done to clinton was abominable......a black mark on this country`s political process......a dark episode....

and is probably,in part, responsible for the nasty, partisan atmosphere that pervades this campaign.....

take that...my liberal antagonists on this board.....i`ll bet i surprised some with that one.....

and i`m pro-choice to boot....

who knew?....lol

Not only a black mark GW but possibly led to 9-11. The Clinton White House was so busy trying to defend him from the Republican Attack Dogs, and Murdochs Media that feed off it, that a lot of things that should have been looked at fell thru the cracks. Not sure if I blame Clinton for fighting or for the Republicans for digging up dirt and not letting go. We didn't need to know every detail that the Murdoch Media kept feeding us day after day.

StevieD- I think you're way off the mark here. Possibly led to 9/11? (Thats like blaming ourselves for Pearl Harbor- IMHO)

Clinton never should have been put thru that mess, BUT He should have acted responsibly in the first & second place too, i.e., never tickled her tonsils to begin with or lied about it. As has been repeated ad nauseum...he gave Murdoch the ammo.

that`s a bit of a stretch,stevie....imo.....but,i do believe clinton`s punishment was so disproportionate to his actions.....that it was close to criminal....

it was a stupid move by a very savvy guy(and i`m not a clinton fan...but i respect him as a politician).....but,he should never have been forced to testify about such a thing.....

ridiculous...

Sorry Steven, I also disagree. If you think about it, those in government, whether its the Postal Service, IRS, airport screeners, or the intelligence services, do not like to work. If they did, they would be in private industry.

As such, our government rarely is prospective in its thinking and preparation. It normally is reactionary. 9-11 happened because we got lazy airport screeners, lazy intelligence planners and infiltrates and frankly because we were arrogant enough to think that terrorists would never get away with it.

Not the fault of Bush or Clinton. Just the American way of doing things.
