Not that I thought much of Ayers, but I think this was a hopeless situation for pretty much any coach after Larry Brown abandoned the team. I can only imagine how difficult it is to coach Iverson as he launches one bad shot after another. Toss in a selfish player like "defense-is-optional" Glenn Robinson (not to mention his pouting incident the other day) and a never-ending stream of injuries and this is a really difficult situation. Even when healthy, Derrick Coleman is always day-to-day. I like Snow and McKie, but they look worn out. Snow seems to have lost some confidence as well.

I guess the 76ers are still in the playoff hunt due to the East's ineptitude, but they're really headed in the wrong direction...
