I was just wondering if anybody has done this before? and if you have....Did you do a tandem jump or did you go by yourself..

I made my 2nd jump yesterday from 12000 feet:scared in Chester, SC and it was just as awesome as my first jump. I will be going back soon.:00hour

Just wanted to see how many Madjackers have the balls to do this.

my wife did it a few years back with a few friends & it was a tandem jump. there was actually a 3rd person who jumped with her to take video footage (of course for a price). she loved it but hasn't said whether she would do it again.

i'm with pf, jumping off a porch is my extent of excitement.....lol

I thought about doing it one time, then I remembered how as a kid, I jumped off a roof one time with my sunday shoes on, and my feet tingled with pain for about 10 minutes.

That and I dont like heights. Not sure if I could get out the door. They probably have a term for it , frozen fingers.

I always thought skydiving would be fun, but I was also always scared to death of heights. So, I never pursued skydiving. I just thought it was something I was not capable of doing. However, after I had decided to eliminate fear from my life, I realized that skydiving was now possible. So, after returning to Mass, after a tour of duty in Alabama (Air Force, and no I didn't fly a plane), I decided it was time to confront my biggest fear.

As the plane was taking off for my first skydive, I was nervous. The higher we got, the more nervous I got. Then they opened the door. I could see people leaving the plane. Every time someone jumped, I could feel the plane adjust to its new weight. I got real nervous. Then, I saw the view from the door. I could see the threshold a few feet below my head (I was bent over), and the ground over two and a half miles below. That is absolutely the most terrifying scene I have ever witnessed. My body froze. However, as soon as my body froze I remembered my decision not to allow fear in my life. My brain shut down the fear and I walked to the door. I got into position and jumped without any hesitation. That was the greatest moment in my life to date. Nothing will ever compare to overcoming that fear.

If you are interested in how people have overcome fear, I have included a couple of pages about overcoming fear.

Clear skies and soft landings,

I have done it once and it was a tandem jump. The worst part was sitting on the edge of the plane with the door open preparing to jump. After you open your eyes and you're in the air, it's great. Not scary at all. It's one of those thing I always wanted to do, but feel no urge to do again.

I would shit myself all the way down, and would hit the ground w/o the parachute opening, post heartattack at 3,000 feet.

BASE Jumper Dies When Parachute Fails
TWIN FALLS, Idaho ? A man died when his parachute failed to open after he jumped from a bridge spanning the Snake River Canyon, authorities said.

Yegor Drozdov, 29, of Revere, Mass., died Tuesday after jumping from Perrine Bridge, a popular BASE-jumping area in southern Idaho, Twin Falls sheriff's spokeswoman Nancy Howell said.

BASE is an acronym for building, antenna, span, earth, the four categories of objects from which one can jump in the extreme sport.

Howell said Southern Idaho Regional Communications received a call Tuesday from someone reporting that a BASE jumper would be jumping off the bridge ? standard procedure for BASE jumpers who are asked to check in before leaping.

Twenty minutes later, the sheriff's office received a call from a witness "saying they had seen someone jump off the bridge and their parachute didn't open and they hit the land below," Howell said Wednesday.

She said Drozdov's body was recovered by authorities who reached the area by boat.

More than 5,000 jumps are made annually from the 486-foot-long bridge that spans the Snake River Gorge. Two people died BASE-jumping from the bridge last year.
