I don't disagree with what you are saying about the attack on AU but I really don't think it is possible to look at 2 different games played under different scenarios.

USC has no idea how it is to play in Columbia nor does AU have any idea how it is to play in Pullman. They are both difficult places to play.

This reminds me of last year when LSU claimed that Arky was a much improved team after they played them to a very close game late in the year and put no credence in the SC thrashing of Arky early in the year.

Now would it be fair for me as an SC guy to put no credence on the AU dismantling of Wazzou on the Plains? No it would not just like no one should disparage what SC did to Arky last year.

And as the season evolves teams do also.

I am one of agree that AU should be ahead of SC as I have SC #6. But if we are to have an honest moment, who other than OSU, really has legitimized their ranking?

2-6 are pretty interchangeable and the only quality wins so far are for AU and Mich. The reast have questionable quality wins like SC over Nebraska, etc.

It will all shake out in the next few weeks and we will see who really is overrated, digressing, progressing, or whatever.

Until then congrats on that amazing 3rd Q the other night and deserved victory.

nice post balls

you're right all this could be moot if auburn loses to arky next weekend, fla, georgia, bama, and then an SEC championship in atl. lots of ball to be played. not many folks know that auburn's top two starting LBs have been suspended and are yet to play in a game. when and will they play...i dont know, but i would assume by Fla they will both be back

Oh St looks to be the cream of the crop and then there's everyone else like you stated. It just pisses me off when these people dog cuss auburn b/c they bet on them to cvr 2 TDs on the road in the SEC. you dont do that( see OM vs UGA). anyway tons of ball to be played and i'm still not that impressed by auburn. we still have to play 3 top 10 teams from here on out and USC has 1 top 10 team remaining:scared

USC may more than one Top 10 left

USC may more than one Top 10 left

They obviously have ND left and we hope that both programs are in the TOp 10 at that point. But they also have Cal and Oregon who both could be Top 10 at that point. Cal has looked very dominating since being bombed by Tenn in the opener and though Oregon should count their blessings, they are creaping up as well.

USC may end up playing both of them with them in the Top 10 and they both are formidable.

I am going to the AU-FL game and am really pumped to see the game. I work in ATL and in my office Tim Tebow's sister works there also. We are going to watch the game or at least tailgate with them. But I will be pulling for AU as I like BCS chaos and I think UF's schedule is too daunting to run the table.

...agree with everything posted above.

...but I will say that it's probably a tougher venue in So. Carolina than Washington...and while the talent difference may go to the west coast team, the coaching advantage goes to visor boy.... :SIB

...guess the next few weeks will either shake out an elite SEC team...or like most years, they will beat each other's brains in and cost each other a chance at an undefeated season. If (and that's a big IF) Auburn or Florida runs the table, I can't see USC playing Ohio St. It will be the unbeaten SEC champ.... ;)

Auburn is not overrated. Nobody should say that.

I doubt an SEC team can jump USC in the BCS. Especially since USC currently has SOS better than every SEC team and USC still has not yet played there toughest opponents. When USC is clicking 2h of season, it will be hard to jump them in the polls. SEC teams better jump USC in polls NOW vs LATER.

right now, cal is the best team in pac-10! but that don't mean nothing mid-season...
you might not like how usc handled biz last nite but i was impressed with how they "nutted up". they keep plugging in new players and they keep winning. maybe not like last year but every good team has those ugly wins.

Three things Impressed me this week>>>

OSU manhandled Hersey and his friends
USC had a 99 yd scoring drive that was lengthy
AU had all the offesnive plays in one quarter

The last two can be isolated yet were awesome

Still spouting non-sense huh Scott USC plays a pitiful schedule and Pac 10 sux Floridas schedule is no doubt twice as hard as USC's Anybody that knows college football can look at the two and see that!! USC got lucky last night against a team Auburn drilled(Auburn is overrated) and it will show soon! If not for bad play calling and bought referees LSU (best team in the SEC talent wise) would have beaten Aubarn. Bottom line SEC best football conference by leaps and bounds ahead of any other!!

DVLLSU, why be confrontattional>>>

I don't truly undeerstand why you feel it necessary to bash USC. SC cannot control anything that happens in the Pac 10 scheduling but cantrol OOC, which by the way LSU is working on.

No one disputes the legitimacy of the SEc so why do you continue disparage USC? They may not be as good as years past but they still are in the Top 10. At what point can you step back and at leat give them a little credit for being a worthy program?

By the way they are 4-0 against the SEC in the past 4 years. Not saying that that they beat LSU but that has to stand for something.

Here is something for you to chew on.

LSU has played........

Louisiana-Lafayette
Arizona
@ Auburn
Tulane
Mississippi St.

= 4-1 record, 4 home games, 1 road game , and ZERO wins on the road. Currently Sagarin ranks LSU's schedule #100 in the country. I agree. It is pathetic and quite easy.

USC has played..........

@ Arkansas
Nebraska
@ Arizona
@ Washington St.

= 4-0 record, only 1 home game, 3 road games , 3 wins on the road. Currently Sagarin ranks USC's schedule #4 in the country. Don't think ANYBODY can dispute that. :yup

On a side note, USC lost 3 starting FB's, there #1 defensive player (pinkard) for season, #1 DT was gone for last 3 games with injury, replacing bunch of all american talent from last year with brand new QB, and USC still continues to win. VERY IMPRESSIVE and USC has the most upside of all teams in CFB including OSU.

Still want to argue LSU should be ahead of USC? :nono:

Just a reminder, I think LSU is a very good team, but we are not debating that. We are talking about who deserves to be in the top 10 based on performance and schedule.

Scott I am an SC guy>>>

They both deserve to the in the TOp 10. What I feel bad for LSU is the domination they had over AU yet did not win. Do I think SC could beat LSU? Of course I do. But if I am gambling I would lay the pts with LSU right now.

If USC played @LSU next week, I feel LSU would win. But that has very little to do with top 10 rankings. YOU EARN your top 10 rankings.

Ohio St. has EARNED their #1 ranking. But replace their wins against Texas with TULANE and their win @IOWA with Louisiana-Lafayette and OSU would not deserve to be ranked #1 in the country.

Since you are a USC guy, how about 2003. Remember? USC had 2 losses and many felt USC was the best team in the country that year @ end of season. But USC did not deserve to be ranked #1 or even play in the championship game because they had 2 losses early in year. That year if I felt USC was the best team and better than OSU, should I rank USC higher? NO! LSU has 1 loss, cupcake schedule, and you are ranking LSU higher than USC with zero losses and difficult schedule? Not making much sense here.

If not for bad play calling and bought referees !!

:mj07:

everytime you post you look like a freaking idiot...you are a moron if you think the refs were paid off. if you think that one call cost you the game you are sorely mistaken

LSU (best team in the SEC talent wise)
!!

i'm still trying to figure out what the hell this means??? does talent win football games? hell no it doesnt, just ask miami and florida state...

DVLSU we will see you in atlanta this year, only it wont be the SECG, it will be for a return trip to the peach bowl:142smilie

None of the top 5 teams have made the big statement to claim to be the best imo.

Ohio St whips Texas big deal!

I'm sorry but Texas is an overrated squad who was never the 2nd best team in the land or top 5 material.

Iowa is a freaking joke who was clearly overrated. All these rankings are pure ****ing garbage.

Lets just settle it with a playoff to really see who is the best each year.

This bs needs to stop as we can just see the train wreck coming. I hate to break it to you but the SEC will probably get screwed again this year.

I would bet anything that if the Ohio St/Michigan winner & USC end up with no losses, an undefeated SEC team will get jobbed out again.

The title game is more of who can bring what to the stadium & in tv ratings compared to just being who really belongs.

I have been downplaying OSU all year but after taking out Iowa IN Iowa, OSU is clearly cream of the crop. Texas is almost unchanged from last year(beside qb) and they very likely will end top 5. Yeah ALOT of teams come into Texas and beat them, beating Texas BIG DEAL! :142smilie
OSU beating a very tough hawkeye team in Iowa is a big deal to me as well and makes a statement. Home games in the Big10 are huge advantage. OSU offense is loaded, but it is their defense that made the statement for me the past couple games.

Though I do agree wth you about the playoffs, If Auburn goes undefeated it will be winner of Mich/OSU(if they stay undefeated) Vs Auburn.

Saragins SOS is so over rated its not even funny.

Arizona,Arkansas, and Nebraska are all garbage teams. So that means USC has played one quality team and LSU has played one quality team. Big deal that both teams have played one quality team. Only difference is USC has played 3 road games and LSU has played 1 road game.
