Future plays

Future plays

One future play I love but dont recommend unless you have the means to sit on it all year because its pricey. Top promoted club in the EPL- This will be my 3rd year making this play and im 2/2 so far. Wolves is -350 and its extremely high to sit on all year but they were a "championship" team last year in name only as they prob could have finished mid table in the PL. I personally feel its a slam dunk but crazier things have happened

Wolves top promoted club 17.5* to win 5*

Top Club in the "South" EPL

Southampton 3* to win 4.5* (Bournemouth & Brighton)

La Liga - I make this bet every year, pretty much. Hoping this is the year! Atletico to win spain

Atletico 2* to win 20*

Chelsea to win Europa League 5* to win 35*

EPL starts Friday so going to have to have action on this game.. ha

Man U seems to be in a bit of a rocky area but I feel they have to start the year with 3 points and Leicester is slowly being decimated completely of their championship team

Man U 6.3* to win 3*

United to record shutout 1* to win 1*

IMO Huddersfield, although I really like their coach and have been a huge backer of Wagner got really lucky last year. They scored 28 goals for the entire season and somehow managed to not be relegated. 0.73 goals per game just wont cut in 2 years in a row and I dont see where more scoring will come from this year. Im pulling for them to stay up this year but its going to be tough. The only thing keeping this from being a max play for me is that as of now Hazard and Kante are prob not going to start not sure if they will come on 2nd half. Chelsea also has a new manager and style that is being implemented so that could pose a problem

Chelsea 9* to win 5*

Another team that I will will have a drastic drop this year is Burnley, overachievers by a wide margin last year and now have to cope with playing iin Europe which I doubt they even want to be a part of and they are currently in the 2nd round of qualifying which first leg is today (more on that in a bit). There is NO way in hell they get 54 points this year even though i'll say it for them as well , love their manager as Sean Dyche has done a tremendous job there. surprised he has not gotten a offer from a bigger club yet. not per se the elite but a west ham type etc..

Welcome back Kid!!

Have some concerns about Chelsea right now. They have not looked good at all in preseason and I hate the goalie swap they just did. Huddersfield has made some nice additions to the team and should be improved this year. Will be an interesting one.

Europa 8/9

Europa 8/9

As I mentioned above with Burnley they, in my opinion will see a drastic reduction in points this year and are currently playing in Europe with a very very tough trip to Istanbul today.

Istanbul Basaksehir 4.4* to win 4*

Lets be real. I'll take the Turkish league winners any day of the week of the 4th place Austrian league side and who are currently off to a rough win-less 2 game stretch to start this year. even at a high price

Besitkas FH 2.6* to win 2*
Besitkas 6* to win 3*
Besitkas -1 8* to win 4*

I have some plays up. I have been doing well with the totals on good teams so I am sticking to that today. I put 3 up in my thread for FH and game, Besiktas, Feyenoord and Atalanta. There are even a couple more I would do, but Euro can be unpredictable so I do not want to go crazy.

Add one Europa play

Add one Europa play

Olympiakos has been struggling which is a continuance of last year as defensive woes have plagued them in pre-season here and may not get a clean sheet but I think they are without a doubt the better squad to at least push this result at home.. fancied state. Luzern have lost 80% of their away matches in europe

Olympiakos -1 5.4* to win 3*

I like Olympiakos, they were one that I dropped as well as Sevilla and Midtjylland. Just too many games.

I think this could be an ugly opening weekend for the Premier League. Going to be tough to cap as I think some top teams are simply not ready to play. Friday's game is missing many players from both teams.

One scottish play

One scottish play

I dont dabble into scotland much but have a play I believe has some real bite to it

Celtic is usually in the CL group stage and qualifying for such is big money not to mention the extra games and such that come with qualifying. Its almost like 15 million a team guaranteed if you qualify for the group stage. The Scottish league, sad to say its almost a foregone conclusion that celtic wins so with that said dropping points in the 2nd game of year to have players ready for a Huge CL match a few days later seems to be the thinking Id have and hoping they do as well

Hearts +1 4.* to win 4*
Hearts FH +.5 1.5* to win 1*

Yea Im going to try and tread as lightly as I can but I get too excited for start of the year lol. I just personally think united have to win and start off with 3 of it could turn quick. Chelsea is in flux but huddersfield had a lot of smoke and mirrors last year so that was the reason for those plays.

arsenal and city is usually an automatic over play for me but Not sure how arsenal will play without Wenger?? Any thoughts on that? over 2.5 at -180 id love to take the over but not sure if arsenal will continue to pay their open style with a new manager or reign it in a bit against city.

EPL adds

EPL adds

Going to add a few EPL plays and wrap this up for now until some of these games are completed. I will prob be on Southampton but will wait. As already hammered home im against burnley a bunch and the longer they go in Europe the better I think for me going against them. long trip home from turkey then have to go away to st marys.. mark hughes NEEDS a good start. but will wait on that one

Newcastle +.5 2.4* to win 2*
Spurs TT under 1.5 1.4* to win 1*

Liverpool have done tremendous in the offseason and play exceptional free flowing soccer, sometimes detrimental as they dont know when to bunker down ..Anfield will be pumped up, I think they have a flying start

Liverpool FH 4.5* to win 3*

Arsenal/city over 2.5 5.4* to win 3*

Going to stick with the play I usually auto make. City has not looked like they will have a sluggish start and Arsenal will prob get at least 1.

as always appreciate any thoughts/opinions regardless if opposite of myself as there are times when something is pointed out that I am unaware of. :)

Definitely see them wanting to make a statement at home against City, but I will not be betting any overs in the Premier League this weekend. I probably will not be on any favorites either. I still need to dig into most of these as I have not really gotten to Saturday yet. My capping universe has been expanding lately so I need to get back to focusing on what I am good at. The good news is I know much more about the lesser leagues than I used to and have been finding some good betting angles.

I remembered getting killed the first weekend last year. I see some draws and low scoring games as I simply do not think many of these teams are truly ready to start this season, especially those with many WC players. I really believe they start the season too early in England. I think teams like Huddersfield and New Castle have great opportunities to get points in games they usually would not. I like Wolves in a pick at home. All my plays will be small as nothing is worse than getting killed in week 1!

Agreed with all this. I think the PL should start a week later for sure. Mostly smaller/medium type plays but def think Newcastle can get a point at home. The only team I see making a statement (I could be wrong) is Liverpool, I really think they come out (at least in FH Im banking on) with some flair. Last year first weekend I was in vegas as I usually am but first time not making the trip which im sad about but got behind on getting ready for HS season so have a bunch to do still to plan out 2 a days. Im high on Wolves this year as you mentioned about them this weekend.

Entering my 10th year coaching I have a future prediction I think our HS team wins conference championship gets a top 2-3 seed in district tournament this year and has a real shot at district final 4 and a chance to qualify for states. I cant put my money on any further than that. I will say though and being as impartial as possible that I fully believe well win a state championship within the next 4 years. Our community is developing some fantastic players going down to the 4th grade class (doing this at a public school not a private school who recruits) and in a few years well have 5-6 D 1 players on our team at once and this is at the 2nd smallest classification in PA. I'm excited about this and the work thats been put in

Just noticed your thoughts on Chelsea and Huddersfield. I agree they have not looked good at all and I do not like the swap but their hand seemed forced as Courtois was being an asshole basically reports were he wasnt going to play anywhere but Madrid but Kepa from what ive read seems to be a good piece. Hes 23 and played with mediocre Bilbao team and gave up 23 goals in 22 matches? I could be wrong on that info but Believe I read that somewhere. Real wanted Kepa I believe back in January but decided last minute against it. If Real were after him Id imagine he has some real talent that will only improve

weird fact about kepa "Everybody needs a hobby and Kepa is no different. He's unlikely to find too many Chelsea colleagues to share his, though: birds. Born on the Basque coast, Kepa used to hunt goldfinches with his father and train them to sing. He was good, too, winning competitions with Oker, Rocky and Raikkonen."

I cant say Im all that up to speed on Huddersfield signings but the one I do know is Terence Kongolo but I am not sure how he will adapt to the EPL physical brand of play. Hes 6'2 and only weighs 152? That would make me hesitant playing consistently in the back but again I could be way off on all this. I just picture someone like an Alexis Sanchez just using brute strength to get his way

Great news on the coaching front. Hopefully the young players stick together and stay on track to go to public schools. Obviously winning certainly helps but so many private schools will recruit young players and it is hard for their parents to say no to a free or greatly reduced private school education. Not sure how it is in Pittsburgh, but the DC/NOVA/Baltimore region has some many private schools competing for players that it is getting tougher and tougher for publics to keep the great players.

Good luck this season!! Look forward to hearing how it goes.

Bason has brought up some very valid points concerning this game and the line change has me nervous so this is what Im going to try and do. Pricey again but just in case a draw I want to minimize my losses early

Leicester +1.5 6.6* to win 3*

Bason talked about this having 1-0 written all over it and I agree and would like to snag the 1* shutout

If for some reason something at half looks appetizing i'll be around
