I couldn't name a single person on any team and after winning a homer bet on USA today I looked into tomorrow's matches.

My question:

If I take Paraguay -250 and they tie at the end of regulation, do I lose?

Anyone have a link to soccer rules?

I would hate to dump a decent amount of money and lose because I didn't understand the rules...

Thanks.

I'm far from an expert on soccer, but my understanding is that yes, you would lose that bet if they don't win. By taking the -250, you are betting that they will win by 1 goal or more. If the game ended at say, 1-1, that would be a draw, which is another option to bet.

this is correct...

Wooddy you could find an Asian Handicap line in your bookie where Paraguay is -1 (-120), so if they win by one, you push the bet, but if they score one more, a 2 goal difference you win....is more risky, but at least you don't throw all that juice with a last minute draw....my two cents...

bol with your decision...

Woodson, the above is correct unless you are betting the pointspread, ie Paraguay at PK. In that case it's a push. The ML bet is where you lose it and its just like a 3-way bet in hockey.

That said, I've got Paraguay -195 on the ML so they better win today and not tie!
