Charlton 0:0 v Tottenham<P>
Been very impressed with Charlton to date.<P>
They were desperately unlucky in the season opener against Chelsea - firstly to have Konchesky sent off midway thru the 1st half and then concede a horrible late winner to Lampard when a clearance struck a Charlton player and fell perfectly for the Chelsea midfielder to kill off the 10 men.
Chelsea showed against Man U what they are capable of but were outplayed for the most part by the Addicks.<P>
At the weekend, Alan Curbishley's men again showed their team spirit after falling behind in the 2nd min away to a Bolton team determined to make their fans forget their 4-1 opening day loss v Fulham.<P>
Charlton got back into the game with a debatable penalty but emerged deserved winners when stand-in captain Graham Stuart's driving run set up Jason Euell for the winner.<P>
Spurs drew 2-2 on opening day at Everton but had Richard Wright's howler to thank for their second goal. In their home opener at the weekend, a sole strike from Jamie Redknapp that wobbled past the prostrate Villa keeper was enough to get them all 3 points but Kasey Keller was required to come up big on a couple of occasions to keep a relatively toothless Villa off the sccoresheet.<P>
Charlton aren't a flashy side and there's not a wealth of playmakers in their unit. Rather, they rely on their athleticism and pace - they are quick and strong at the back and the midfield is highly competitive.<P>
They should be able to bustle the visitors out of their passing game and given their London derby record I outlined earlier this season, represent good value.<P>
PLAY CHARLTON 0:0 (10 units)<P>
Manchester Utd 0:1 3/4 v Zalaegerszegi<P>
The perfect opportunity for Man U to take out early season frustrations.<P>
Wasteful finishing meant West Brom stayed in contention for a long while in the season opener at Old Trafford while Chelsea proved worthy rivals at Stamford Bridge in a mouth-watering clash.<P>
United looked like they were getting somewhere near their best in the second half against Chelsea as they played with some real pace and verve.<P>
Ferguson will need to choose if he wants to start Solskjaer to boost the goalscoring potential of the side but I thik he'll be comfortable with what he has to begin with.<P>
Van Nistelrooy won't go amiss for too much longer and there's plenty of scoring options from midfield too.<P>
Defensively they still have injury problems without Barthez, Ferdinand, Brown and Gary Neville out but John O'Shea was impressive at Stamford Bridge and apart from the stunning late winner, Zala did little to threaten Utd in leg one.<P>
The danger with this match is an away goal but given Utd need to win by two to get through, the handicap suits a play here on the home team who won't even comtemplate going out at this stage.<P>
