He couldn't have picked a stronger side today and it should have been enough as Sunderland doesn't have the talent to take advantage of Uniteds weaknesses. United wasn't very good last season but it was hidden because of Van Persies left foot and man city and Chelsea imploding. They're not a top 4 team without a healthy van persie and it's exasperated without Rooney. They need about 3 world class midfielders and a centerbacks and an attacking left back. They have the money to get them but it's tough to recruit anyone to play for such a defensive manager that may not be playing in the champions league.
