Lovie is in over his head and is there for the paycheck. This is a wager on a huge Michigan letdown after a big win in the Big House against Iowa last week. Road trip to Champaign to play a bad Illinois team. Harbaugh struggles to motivate his teams in this spot, so gimme the generous points with Illinois.

Rutgers +27.5
Indiana has played no one yet this season. Yes, the scarlet nights are horrible, but since when is Indiana that good?

Purdue +3.5 and ML +165 for 1/2 a unit.

Maryland are no world beaters and Purdon?t is at home. I?ll take the hook with the 3 points and sprinkle a bit on the ML.

I think so. State Penn hasn?t played a team as good as iowa yet this season nor have they played in a hostile environment. They have some young players in key positions who haven?t tasted adversity so their ability to handle the pressure will go a long way in determining who wins tonight.
Franklin is 0-11 in road games against ranked teams which is a meaningless stat but could mean he isn?t at his best in high pressure situations.
Another intriguing stat is State Penn has yet to give up a first quarter point this season. Granted, Idaho, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Maryland and Purdue ain?t exactly murderers row, but anytime you don?t allow teams to score early means you?re doing something right.
Really wanting to pull the trigger on the under 9.5 first quarter as I expect iowa to try and establish the run early. Michigan got its points early after a turnover last week; iowa avoids those and I like my chances with this first quarter wager.
Any thoughts on this game, Mark?

Going to be electric in Iowa city tonight for sure.
Special all gold unis, Ricky stanzi is in town as an honorary captain and iowa traditionally plays well in this situation.
Iowa can get 3 in the first quarter and 7 in the second quarter and shut State Penn out and we?ll both be happy.
