ken florian -170 vs joe stevenson appeals greatly to me....

grabbed him straight for a nice chunk....and parred him with nogueira for even money...

the franklin/dan henderson line looked interesting...

and i grabbed a little rampage over vanderlei silva at roughly even money...

i don`t care about silva`s win over jardine...i think silva`s way past his best days...i see rampage avenging those previous losses..

I've gone against Rashad with two of my biggest picks this year, got screwed on one and got my arse handed to me on the other but this time I might be with him. It's either Rashad or nothing for me. Forrest won't be able to take him down and even if he could I doubt he would try, it's not Forrest's game. On their feet, Forrest may out box him by being active but Rashad is so much quicker than the other LHWs. I don't see a clear winner either way but if the line gets too high I'll be on Rashad.

As for Wandy and Ramp. A few things.... I agree Wandy's best days could be behind him but what about Rashad, we have NO clue where his head is these days. Saying that, Wandy brutalized Ramp in their other two fights. It wasn't one punch KOs we're talking about, it was absolute distruction. If Rampage will take him to the ground then I can see him winning but on their feet I can't see Rampage winning.

So basically if you're going for Forrest and Wandy then you should be correct because I stink at MMA these days.

i see your point,layin`...and in all honesty, this is a small wager for me...definitely a roll of the dice...,...but there are a few important rule differences between pride and ufc and i think those diifferences favor rampage...the brazilians love to kick and stomp downed opponents...

i think what rampage needs to do is stay out of the clinch....i would expect rampage to try and take silva down and use the elows to the head and face that weren`t allowed in pride...

all that said, the wager that had me salivating was florian -170.. i hit that pretty hard, and i usually don`t even like laying even -170 unless i`m pretty damned confident...

short of florian falling into a guillotine,i don`t see how he loses...i don`t think this fight goes the full 3.....

After rethinking this fight and watching a few of Nogs fights i would go with Mir also. Nogs striking is so very average. Im with ya Dog the Bounty hunter. Not with Forrest tho. There is a reason Rashard is undefeated. Standup to me is no contest. Forrest is nothing but an above average boxer and he isn't getting Rashard down.
Ill also take Florian. If BJ cut Stevenson up wait till he catches one of those Florian elbows.

Florian comes off his high horse. I'm still not sold on him. I just never have been. I think Stevenson can beat him. I've never seen a Guillotine like Stevenson. He literally can pull it off at any point in a fight. There are so many opportunities for these chokes in a fight as well too. He's the best I've seen at it.

As for Wandy's best days behind him...I find that laughable. He lost 3 straight fights to 3 of the best fighters in the world. He's still relatively young. You can't just disreguard his DESTRUCTION of Rampage like it was nothing. I don't care if it's a 10 year gap between fights. The way he destroyed Rampage will never be forgotten. If the public knows how bad it was, what do you think the mental case Rampage thinks? Don't forget that Rampage took Wandy down a couple times in their fights and Wandy was fine. Although Wandy has a black belt in BJJ(I can admit isn't legit), he's probably a lower tier, but he still has good ground game.

I like Stevenson, Big Nog, Evans, Wandy, and Hendo.

Stevenson via decision
Noguiera via decision
Evans via KO/TKO
Wandy via KO/TKO
Hendo via decision

All of these fights are competitive. The PRIDE guys are in a completely new arena, and many have been unimpressive in the UFC.

The only fights i really like of this list is Florian to beat Stevenson (best bet) and Franklin to beat Hendo. Florian's footwork makes nearly every one of his opponents look like complete goons (thank you, Mark Dellagrotte)..and Florian's BJJ is terribly underrated. He will not get guillotined by Stevenson, partly b/c he doesnt typically go for the double leg takedown.

Franklin has just looked great lately IMO and Hendo's right hand hasnt phased anyone for a while. Im a fan of Hendo, but he hasnt impressed me in the slightest in quite sometime.

Hendo will knock Franklin out. How can Hendo impress anyone? He has fought all stars or star in the making. Franklin is getting knocked out. Hendo has the better chin.
Hendo in UFC fought Rampage a bigger man and basically fought him to a draw. Fought Silva and dominated him the first round and caught a knee to the chin which stunned him and caused him to go brain dead and lose in the 2nd round. Hendo beats Palares who will be a star one day. Those are big time fighters just like Franklin. I will be all over Hendo like Kickserv on an MMa dog. Franklin stepped up three times and got knocked out all three times. Last fight he looked impressive over Matt Hammil. Is Matt Hammil really something to brag about?

Dan will be hit (and kicked) four to five times for every one punch he lands. Much of the time he gets too amped for the knockout and just flails in the wind. He throws bombs, but his accuracy is terrible. He'll never land the punches he needs to to beat top-caliber guys in the UFC until he looks at his target and stops dropping his head as he throws.......... JMO

If he plans to rely so much on his striking, i think he needs to find himself a great boxing coach. He does not have great boxing coach at Team Quest, just good sparring partners and strength/conditioning coaches.

unless florian has a brainfart, and lets himself get guillotined,i have a problem figuring how stevenson beats him...

florian has better stand-up....he`s naturally bigger....and anybody that saw his fight vs huerta realizes that the guy thinks on his feet.....

he has a well rounded game and he can adjust in mid-fight.....

he seems to have trouble with super strong guys...particularly guys at 170...

The one guy who I've always thought could have a legitimate chance to beat Fedor. That's if he can show us that his chin is no longer made of glass. Arlovski has the balanced game to win.

I do think that if Fedor ever loses that it'll be via KO/TKO and not submission, so I don't think we'll be seeing a Tim Sylvia leg lock.

He has the all important chin tho.

He has the all important chin tho.

But Hendo saw birdies when he fought Silva, too... he said the knee he caught was reason for his submission loss. he was a little :dizzy: on the ground.

In reality it is a very even fight... interested to see who is the better man that night. I may just sit back and enjoy..... :)

...maybe not.

i may join you Raw sitting this one out. This is a fight were the UFC finally gets it and has styles that should produce a good solid fight. How about we make a bet? Just me and you. If your fighter Franklin loses then Kickserv is not allowed to ban people anymore. If Hendo loses then Kickserv is not allowed to bet more then three dogs on any more fight cards. And if it is a draw Kicserv has to wear a Kimbo mask for halloween, take a picture of it, and make it his avatar. Let me know if we have a deal.
