In case some others agree that the Maple Leafs have been pricey all season, I've found good money to be made by grabbing a few player props. Team total set at 3.5, with a small +money which is rare, lately (they've been ov3.5 at around -140, lately). If they make 4 goals then several of the following are possible.
*Auston Matthews ov0.5 assists +115
Auston Matthews ov0.5 goals +108
William Nylander ov0.5 goals +182
Mitch Marner ov0.5 goals +187
Morgan Rielly ov0.5 assists +145
Zach Hyman ov0.5 goals +241
Zach Hyman ov0.5 assists +217
*Tyson Barrie ov0.5 assists +171
Tyson Barrie ov0.5 points +108
Maple Leafs offense has been majorly clicking, lately, and their defensive play has improved considerably. I've had a half a century to keep my irrational exuberance in check but I'm hopeful for a deeper playoff run, what with recent showings. Bruins, Capitals and Lightning seem like serious threats, but I'm not particularly concerned about the Western side; Leafs have to survive the East to to make the final but I'm digressing and getting way ahead of myself.
Matthews is a great goal scorer but he has been making great set-up plays for his teammates all season. Really improving his game. I'd consider a try on both goal and assist, both +money. He's listed (Pinnacle) at -268 for ov0.5 points, which is insane compared to the other two options; a multiple-point game by him, with both G&A, is never out of the question.
Nylander has been coming on this season, but I've caught him a few times over +200 to net the puck. This guy was a disaster last season, after he came back from his hold-out, so its good to see the recent mojo.
The price on a Marner assist is freakin' -179, and he's another that I've bagged goal props on at better than +200, but today's +187 still very tempting as I find him shooting the puck more, rather than looking to pass. I've looked into 'shot on goal' props but I can never pull the trigger on that nonsense. +187 looks solid. Frig'...at +200 I would already be hoppy.
Forget the Morgan Reilly props. I haven't, lately, and haven't been disappointed in my decision as last season's 20 goals and 72 points--great from a defenseman--are nowhere to be found this year. I have to confess that I think his defense has been shit, as well, but I've hoping for a turnaround; will be this year or next. He's -108 for ov0.5 points but I won't play an NHL goal/assist prop at less than even money, and it should be an assist if gets a rare (recently) point, so the +145 or nothing, here.
Zach Hyman is now playing on a line with Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews, so his point total should surge big time. Not the greatest player in the world, but he's playing on a line with two of them so he will tally even by accident. Another example of the points prop sees him listed -108 for ov0.5 points, but this line could score multiples so the +241 (goal) and +217 (assist) are both very tempting. I should note that he's not out there with the big boys on the power play, at least on the first line.
Tyson Barrie has come on of late, also. Good offensive defenseman was the credentials when acquired, and really starting to show that lately. He has an assist in 5 straight games (7 points over that time; 1G, 6A). He's listed as one of my two "*" notations, just meaning that those would be two I would consider most likely to happen, but a goal prop at better than +200 (Nylander and Marner just short, and likely won't improve) is in the cards if my account has not been stomped by puck-drop.
