First, I want to say that I have never played baseball in my life and that is why I post this thread.
Let say you have the base loaded with 1 out and you have a player at the plate. Of course the opposing team is looking for a double play to get out of the inning. But alot of times, i see the double play happen in this situation. So my question is whether the batting player is able to hit the ball to where he wants to (that is maybe a fly ball or line drive and obviously not a ground ball which will lead to double play) or he simply just swing hard at the plate and hope that the ball is in the air to prevent a double play.
So if anyone could comment on this, that will be great
Good luck to all on tonight's game
