Troy +18 over Ga Tech
Troy has implemented a No Huddle offense and passes the ball now. Defenses get virtually no opportunities to substitute, so the natural depth advantages that bigger schools have against them is mostly offset. That's how thay destroyed Alabama St, and why they had their chance against FSU. Gay Tech may be concentrating on next Thrusday?s UVa game, at least as far as making sure that no one gets too beat up with the short rest-week ahead. Troy may win outright.
UAB +17 over UGA
UGAy starts what?s his name this week now that Tereshawhozitz is hurt. I can?t imagine Richt opening up the offense in this game. I?m guessing that Stafford will be the starter for the rest of the year even though Tereshawhatever is supposed to be back in October, but he IS a freshman. Anyway, UAB plays well against good teams. I can?t imagine UGA losing this one, but I feel good about UAB covering.
Florida -3 over UT
My god, I hate Tennessee. Surely that Urban Meyer magic will start up soon. I mean, they got a coach from Utah, for Pete?s sake ? he has to be really good to go all the way to Utah for your next coach, right? Please, Jesus, smite UT just this once for me. The rheumatiz in my foot tells me Florida beats the snot out of UT.
Miami +4 over Louisville
Any questions?
Auburn -3.5 over LSU
These games are always close, except they?re sometimes 31-7. You know why the spread is 3.5? Because Auburn in #3 and LSU is #6 and the game is at Oughtaburn. I?ll explain why Auburn is #3 ? you explain why LSU is #6. You go first??..Well, I?m waiting??Yeah, that?s what I thought. Auburn is #3 because of Cox, Irons, blinding speed across the board and high expectations because every tough game is at Jerrrrrdn-Hare this year. And their defense is great ? all starters from last year (except the entire defensive front and maybe some linbackers/dbs) return this year. Tubby Tomerville knows that he has to do this year to have a shot and he?s heard thru the grapevine that Petrino is getting antsy again. LSU is #6 because they always win 45-3. Come on ? LSU boosters are fixated on coaches from Michigan. It didn?t work out with Saban and it won?t with Miles. His name is LES for a reason. Auburn absolutely destroys LSU 17-13.
Nebraska +18 over the other USC
See my comments on Florida/UT. Substitute Callahan for Meyers, Oakland for Utah and ignore that stuff about my foot and you?ve got my reasoning. USC never was that good, anyway. I am really just hoping that Nebraska wins so I don?t have to hear about a 4-Pete. I wish I hadn?t made this bet. USC may win by 30.
