This has got to be one of the dumbest things i have ever heard of. Brown benenfits for sure, he gets paid and will travel to G.S. or Sactown or back to college hoops I would assume. But for the knicks to panic like this is unreal. Brown is still owed nearly 40 mil i believe. Isiah fudgpacker thomas assembled this group of misfits and ruined this organization for years to come.

There is even talk of thomas moving to the bench. Yea that will solve the problem. His stupidity in the front office of inflated contracts and egotistical players was doomsday from the beginning. Plus I believe the knicks are still eating allen houston mega contract. Do they really think thomas moving to the bench will help them win more games then brown. I never knew thomas was considered a better coach then brown. besides that the players on the knicks are nearly uncoachable. u have 2 of the biggest cancer cells to ever play in the nba in marbury and francis. there is not enough basketballs on the court for these 2 players to hog up.

The kinicks should have let brown do what brown normally does. Deplete the roster, surround your talent with role players, team oriented players and defensive minded players. Something he was not given an opportunity to do thanks to thomas's horrendous front office moves.

Dont get me wrong i have no bleeding heart for the knicks or larry brown. I am a pacer fan thru and thru. but i do respect browns coaching ability and his ability to revamp an orginization, probably the greatest coach ever at doing it. but for the knicks to buy him out in only the start of his second year seems idiotic to me.

I am here in NY (although I am a Nets fan myself). Brown has totally lost this team. Granted they are not the players he wanted, but he knew what he was getting into when he quit on Detroit and ran to NY for his "dream job." Criticizing your players in the press (virtually every day) is NOT how to win their respect. When 1 or 2 guys complain that roles weren't defined, I don't buy into it. When more than half the team complains (as they did during their exit interviews at the end of the season), then you know there is something to it. I don't think Isiah Thomas as coach is the answer, but you know what--if it comes to pass, one of 2 things will happen. Either the team will play better (let's face it, they can't play much worse), or Thomas will flop, and then the Knicks will can his sorry ass, and truly start over. Dolan has the $$$ to buy out Brown's contract, and it appears that it is inevitable.
