You mean the rouge? Scoring is the same as in the NFL except they add what they call the rouge. When the ball is in the end zone and not returned (ex:miss fg), the kicking team gets a point.
Yes, a single is 1 point. So the game can be tie and the team who missed his fg in the remaining seconds gets the win if the other team don't kick off the ball back...
1837 I'm Canadian and I didn't understand that play at the end of the first half. What do they mean that Millington was behind the kicker and thus was "on side"?
Myron.... heres the rule on that.... When you are punting the ball you can line up players beside or behind your punter at the snap... and as long as they are behind him when he punts the ball those players are "Onside" and eligible to pick up the ball if the other team doesn't pick it up... so they tried tricking calgary... because a lot of the times when the ball is kicked in the endzone it isn't caught and bounces around for awhile and players stand around watching it.... well the punter or anyone else lined up behind him when he kicks it is allowed to run down the field to recover the ball...
you don't see it happen too often now... but a few seasons ago it happened more often where teams would line up a few players behind the punter.... especially when punting into the wind... and just punt the ball super high and not too deep and have their own players try catch the ball....
