some of the best wr's in the league and you got shut out 1st half against guys who were signed of the street to play cb/you cant stop the pass rush from the rams allowing brees to get sacked 6 times, but you had no problem with freeney and mathis? the classic block punt to give the underdog the ball in the redzone then throw a pick right after to put them back in scoring position,Give me a break

in regards to a sport with so many players on each team such as football it is really hard to rig a game with the players being on the take.. especially when the offense and defense are 2 different squads of players..

sports like tennis and boxing are the obvious choices to be fixed since they are single man/woman competitions.. or basketball where 1 player can easily shave points by missing free throws intentionally or such..

You would have to see a referee or 2 on the take in a football game to make it a fixed affair.. I know the last thing on your mind after a tough loss is to think rationally.. and it happens to the best of us..

youll get em next time brother. hang in there.

I often think that some NFL games are rigged, but then you have to think of how many players on that team would have to know about it.

Then you have to think if there at least 10 people involved and the others aren't in "the know" then you would have 70 people claiming they are throwing the game.......not to mention the millions who are watching.

Too difficult to pull off.

GL next time - I lost a lot on that game too. :toast:

Where it is real F ing COLD
Well to play football, sometimes teams scheme and things look all different, these guys are pro athletes and sometimes a team just sucks. Not a pro game but look at Texas tech getting thrashed at home to Iowa state, it's football and the old "any given Sunday" applies

Have you ever thought that a game was rigged in which you won ?

I'm bustin your chops a little bit, as I know the feeling. Bottom line is that NFL games are not rigged. It would be too difficult to pull off and way to much at stake. The reality is that this is professional football and even the worst guy on the worst team is a pretty good god damned football player. Couple that with the Saints being over rated and the Rams being under rated, it just seemed way to difficult to pull off. I had the Rams as one of my favorite picks this week. If you look at the history of football, Home Teams that are Underdogs by double digits cover quite a bit. Close to 70% is what I remember seeing.

It was just time for the Rams to win bro. Get 'em next time. Now with that being said, I would take a good hard look at New Orleans next week. They are NOT going to be happy with being a teams first win half way thru the season.

Football is a game of emotion - come in flat against a team that is motivated - you are going to lose.

Any Sunday - any team can be beaten - now that I think of it - I should have been on STL - if I had known about the Cardinals being in the clubhouse - well, what do you do...

Plus - you have to know that NO came in thinking it would be a cakewalk...

Hey guys did not have a bet on this game,i just watched it on the game rewind i thought it was full of crap, but i dont think its impossible for a game to be setup, the government are a bunch of puppets on strings for wall street and oil companies, dont tell me we cant rigg a football game, and might i remind you off a nba official name Tim Donaghy who was caught betting on nba games, and mentioned how he knew what refs favored what players and which ones they didnt like, also how the league sent a notice to the officials after the lakers sent a tape of Kobe getting fouled on several occasions and there was no calls,he said he knew they were gonna call a foul if anyone so much as breathed on Kobe.He also said that the league trys to extend playoff series and to get the bigger teams in the finals, Theres a 60 minutes or 20/20 interview he did if you look on like for it.That said Saints did have a divisional revenge rematch with Tampa coming up and they have had let down game like last yrs lost to Cleveland home

Saints were overly ripe for the upset and like Baltimore vs AFC South they do not play well vs NFC West 3/3....1/5 as road fave....now 3/4....1/6

Just think logically. Alot of money at stake and a very shady gambling element in the shadows. So it would be very naive to think that a certain ammt of corruption wouldnt creep into it.

Ive seen some some very obvious shannanigans happen in the NFL yr after yr and it usually happens against the team that has alot of Public money on them. After a week when the Saints score 100 pts the public jumps all over them and oooops!!!!!

Just have to take that into consideration when betting.

Your right thats why i laid off this game because i realized everyone would see a 50 pt blowout by the saints, and a winless team that just got blown out by 30.Do you remember several yrs ago some nfl coach went for a uncalled 2pt conversion and he was questioned about it at the conference and he chose to not discuss it, the 2pt conversion affected the spread of the game and had no other purpose, forgot who and what team it was though

Exactly.
Saints off huge win
Stlouis no wins and backup qb
Saints play tb with revenge next game
Then Atlanta the following week

Brees played poorly due to heavy pressure. He typically excels vs. blitz, but blitz wasn't the issue yesterday. Long dominating the RT was the problem. Saints played without starting rt. This hurt badly.
Then lost 2nd string rt in the 2h.

Why did you lay off if you thought it would be fixed?? You should have pounded the Rams!!

"Just think logically. Alot of money at stake and a very shady gambling element in the shadows. So it would be very naive to think that a certain amount of corruption wouldn't creep into it."

YOU are being naive and not thinking logically. The NFL has hundreds of billions of dollars at stake. It is in their best interest a million times over to ENSURE that games are not fixed.

Also, football has so many players, coaches, and refs involved... it would be very hard for a rogue individual to make the necessary difference without being exposed. If you are insinuating that ALL of these people are in on these fixes and they are able to keep covering it up year after year, then, again, you are being naive.

The casinos clean up in the NFL every year, would they risk it all for a few bucks? the NFL makes hundreds of billions on this game... would they risk it?... of course not. All the big game players make millions of dollars a year... how much is worth it to them. It doesn't happen.

Has a ref ever taken money from a gambler? Has an NFL player? I wouldn't be shocked if it has been attempted. But, there is WAYYY to much at stake to think that there is some sort of conspiracy going on. It is ludicrous.

And frankly, EVERY game where someone is losing, or a bad call is made, or the team that was SUPPOSED to win, didn't, everyone is calling for a fix. It is childish and boring. Think it through, people.
