Have had few E/W this year and this will be 1st for 2 in same tourney but I REALLY like Mattiace Just dropped @ 365 @ 67/1
(28/1 @ WSEX) This line won't last long I quarantee it.

This course main defense is putting. While Mattiace does not show that great in putting stats, there are few better.Won the 1,000,000 Dave Peltz putting Champ few years back that had many pros entered. Spike got 2nd:)

Placed 18th 2 years ago on this course and has improved tons since then with 2 wins this year and cut only twice in 22 events.

1/2 unit E/W

Michele Redman is 125/1 with Centrebet. Stanjames go 20/1. She is 5th in Stan's ratings and has finished in the top ten in 4 of her last 5 events. Surely this is too big even for a player with "no talent".

DTB,
Been avoiding the pre-event outrights recently but you've tempted me there. Mattiace at 66/1 seems to be a bit too big for a dual winner in an event that excludes all the big names. He is generally 40/1. I have backed him myself in something since his 2 wins because of the price but he failed miserably.. I'll try him again because of the top 20 on the course.

How's this for a stat.... it could either have you rubbing your hands in anticipation .... or questioning my sanity...
Mattiace has only finished in the 20 to 30 range three times this season...
He was 24th in the AT & T then on his next outing he won the Nissan.
He was 27th in the Hartford then on his next outing he won the St Jude.
Cue the drum roll..... he was 28th last week!!

As Homer would say whhhuuuuuhhhh!

Edit: Just noticed another... he shot a closing 69 the outing before each of the 2 wins.... last week he shot a 69 as well.... it's fate!

Anyone know how to read tea leaves for final confirmation before I triple my maximum?

Milpalm WOW Nice find! I can't get into that book DRAT!

---and speaking of Stans stats, they must be setting courses tougher on the beards or season end is taking its toll on these gents as almost everyones scoring ave has regressed from 1 year to last 8 events.

Interesting observation DTB. I hadn't noticed that ;)

Have had a quick look at the numbers and will put forward two reasons:

1/ The effect of age, particularly as players pass 55. There are a lot of people who have been on the Senior PGA Tour a long time! They are not playing as well as they have done a few years ago.

2/ There have not been a lot of 'star' players entering the Tour this year. As a result, my 'field' weight per event has increased by an average of just over 73 in the last few years on this Tour to just over 74. Basically, a reduced entry of 'name' players with a low Sagarin score and the same players playing week after week and getting older.

Of course, it could be human error in the number-crunching department ;)

Have never found much human error in yout #s in fact I have found your #s more true to form than others and always use as determining factor. Thought the way you have been man handling the beards I look into them to see if I could determine your methods of calc without buggung you as usual :)
It is making me lazy coat tailing your picks ;) I decided to dig in and take a look. However will not venture into the Euros:nooo:

This is so funny I had to share it. Was at local bar Rafferty's yesterday afternoon. We got in discussion of golf and who would win Penn Classic. You know how you always have a local loud mouthed wise ass. Well I sitting there drinking ice tea and after he's had bout his 5th scotch and water I told him the longshots I liked and especially Mattiace. After calling me every synonym for ignorant he could think of and explaining to everyone how he liked several of the favs and a person could not make money in the long run betting longshots and how Mattiace didn't have a prayer I finally had enough and told him him I would make him the following wager.
I would wager him $1000 to his $100 and give him all the players in field ahead of Mattiace on money list and I would take all those below him on money list to win tourney. Not only did he jump on it but 2 more of his friends climbed on for same wager.
They will shit when they see there is no player ahead of Mattiace on money list in field.:grins:

Now I probably won't get paid but it worth more than the money to see look on their face when they find out they have been had.

Go Get Em DTB. Thats a good story :). I remember being in a bar in Miami, some xenophobic redneck bloke was spouting off about this and that. Things gotta little heated and ended up playing a game of pool with him for $100. My buddies put up my share as they generally know I'm a pretty good player. 30 seconds later I've been 7-balled and the bloke is crying with laughter. . Still I have nightmares.

Ha No it wasn't him but just as good. This guy thanks he is Gods gift,I don't think you know him. They have already informed me that they considered it a "no bet" and that they were duped.
I told them not to let their alligator mouth overload their hummingbird ass next time. Was worth more than the money:D
