Sports Pagers anyone?

Anyone have any of these sports pagers that sportsbooks give out at times? BetCris offers one when you receive a certain amount of loyalty points...just curious if any of you have one and how good they are?

Bought one on E-Bay a couple of years ago advertised as "ESPN to Go". I don't leave home without it. Great for the days with the family when you can't be glued to the tv, etc.

Paid $60 and there are no other charges. Just 1 AA battery. Well woth what I paid.

All games, news, weather. But all games are given. Updated pretty quickly too.

yeah davoso,i got 2 sportsnow and datacast news ( ESPN TO GO ) and i love them both..my old lady calls it my 3rd nut ( LOL ) people can find 1 time fee on these pagers on ebay and a couple other sites.. just browse.. overunder,spend the coin on what me and davoso just posted.. the books that hand out free sportspagers are complete junk.. pretty much scores only and maybe there lines at most.. ( JUNK ) the 1 i like most is datacast espn to go...i like there look and in game info.. but if your looking for a more in depth professional casino pager..( WHICH HAS AT 3 CASINO ODDS ) and the handicapper channel,gets sportsnow.. spend the coin.. but dont go the ligit way to get 1 which they charge u 180 for the unit and 325 a year.. get a 1 time fee where u own it and no monthly fees.. davoso,thats a killer deal u paid there.. i paid 150.00 for sportsnow and 170 for my espn to go...

Closer to the price Trossi paid but they look nicer than the one I got a couple of years ago for $60.

This is just a warning to all of you with the Sportsnow pagers or are thinking of buying a hacked one. I had one for 4 years and yeah it was well worth the $60 I paid for it off ebay, well worth it. However it recently stopped working so I emailed the guy I bought it from. And I dont know anything about it, all I know is what he told me. He told me the free, hacked Sportsnow pagers wont work anymore. Sportsnow recently upgrade to something called Flex technology, I have no idea what that means, but bottom line is the free, hacked ones that used to work and mine has worked flawlessly for over 4 years, wont work anymore. Thats why, I think, all you will see now being sold on Ebay will be the ESPN ones. I cant comment on how those are.

nope there back up buddy... i had to get a new unit last week.. and i got a new advisor elite with the new frequency.. i was down for a week before he got me up and running again.. it cost me but im back up... so there out there..

Trossi, heres what I heard from him. Keep in mind, I dont know anything about the technology end of this, all I know is this guy has been great to me and has always been a straight shooter. Its not like he is trying to sell me on something else in fact he wants to get the new one as well, so I have no reason to believe he is lying to me.

"As far as I know the only place your going to get one is from Sportsnow....I haven't heard of anyone that has a hack yet for their new system....and if they do....it probably won't last long as Sportsnow now has the ability to kill all the clones with the push of a button...and it would have no effect on the subscribed units.....All the older pagers used a Pocsag system....sportsnow now only works on the FLEX system....they are not compatible in any way shape or form....I would be very leery of buying a sports pager from someone who claims to have it fee free....at the least...I would have them send you clear picture of the pager with a current update...Let me know how this progresses...as you know I am very interested in getting the service again...."

this past April. A Motorola Flex with the free service. Has worked great in any decent sized city across the US. Scores, LV betting line, weather, pitching probables, etc from datacastnews.com.

I paid almost $100 for it from seller "ken099762", and it has stamped on it's back "networkservices"

Trossi I had one of the old sportsnow pagers that recently quit working. Paid $120 on ebay about a year ago.Got to get me another one. Cannot deal without it. Could you get my email from jack or vis-versa so I can get info on new pager?

becareful of the sportsnow pagers, yes they did go down, but i have a good friend who sells them also. he said sportsnow can knock them back down in 5 minutes.
he sells the espn pager, i bought one off him last week, there very nice and i like the feature where it tells you who scored, great for fantasy leagues
he charges $150.00 for them, if ur interested get my email from jack

jmizeus,my guy told me that the sportsnow pager i just recieved will stay up awail,i've owned a sportsnow pager off and on for 4 yrs and it only got hit once which was recently.. so who knows u might be right, they already changed the frequency once..

Ricknjax, i agree with jmizeus, as i posted earlier in this thread, datacast "espn to go" pager is my favorite out of the 2.. love there look and NOW seems to be the safest way to go..

BTW,i dont want to get involved in this any further.. so dont be emailing jack for my email.. just punch in exactly what your looking for at ask.com and these 1 time fee pagers will pop up on ebay and a couple other sites..

ESPN PAGER SUCKS I BET THE ANGELS GAME LAST NIGHT AND THERE WASNT ANY UPDATE UNTIL 4.30 EASTERN TIME THIS MORNING IT JUST WENT DEAD AND THIS HAPPENS A LOT WITH THIS SLOW ESPN PAGER.ITS O.K. AS A PAGER BUT YOU CANT BEAT THE SPORTSNOW FOR INSTANT UPDATES.MY SPORTSNOW ALSO WENT DEAD BUT I GOT A REFUND FROM THE GUY IN FLORIDA ON THE NEW VERSION.WE HAVE TO FIND A NEW SPORTSNOW PAGER THIS IS THE BEST AND FASTEST SERVICE NO DOUBT ABOUT IT.I HAD THE BIG PAGER FOR 4 YEARS THEN I SWITCHED TO THERE NEW SMALLER VERSION IT WORKED FOR ABOUT A WEEK THEN WENT DEAD THE GUY IN FLORIDA COULDNT HAVE BEEN BETTER HE REFUNDED MY MONEY WITHIN 2 DAYS FROM E-BAY.IF ANYBODY HAS ANY LEADS TO A GOOD FAST PAGER LET ME KNOW.THE BEST PAGER I EVER HAD WAS THE SPORTS TRAX IT WAS FOR BASEBALL ONLY IT WAS ACTUALLY ONE OUT BEHIND THE GAME BEING PLAYED BEST EVER IT WAS ALSO DISCONTINUED ITS HARD TO FIND A GOOD PAGER THESE DAYS.

updates every 5 minutes for scores, only good thing is that it tells you who scores

have had it for a long time and sportsnow is much better, but not worth $40 per month
